Drive governance and strategy decisions based on mission objectives and
peer collaboration. Responsible for vendor management, including
monitoring service level agreements, employee satisfaction and
communications. Submit annual and quarterly budgets with goals and
objectives. Provide PeopleSoft reporting, and best practices leadership
with quarterly solution development meetings. Assure compliant operations
focusing on favorable measurable outcomes affecting 33,000 employees.
. Lead contract negotiations through best and final offers. Vetted vendors
with a Total Rewards team scoring on critical technical and relationship
oriented measures. Reviewed proprietary market price and service level
intelligence against expected norms. Five-year cost savings equates to
$10 Million.
. Re-tooled governance to allow for greater input and buy-in from diverse
constituencies and greater clarity in decision-making and fiduciary

Performed "conjoint" modeling to assess the affects of benefit changes

pension and other post-employment benefits, inclusive of a temporary

detailed 10-year cost analysis with cross-functional teams.

president. Responsibilities included operational integrity of systems,
unionized personnel, benefit payments, and compliance.
. Facilitated efficient and organized quarterly client meetings with
senior management and labor union trustees including Board,
Administrative, and Investment Committee meetings.
. Reduced company's processing time from over thirty days to five days
maximum. Hired, promoted and motivated staff to achieve and sustain this
goal.
. Worked closely with auditors, actuaries, and attorneys to complete
necessary filings and drive needed changes relating to client needs and
funding issues.

Million. Reviewed expectations, documented processes and implemented

For all projects in United States and Canada, responsible for
relocations, tuition reimbursement, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures,
and revisions to policy. Managed retirement plans with $550 Million in
assets and over 8,000 participants.
. During an acquisition that doubled the size of the corporation, directed
changes for newly acquired company including union and nonunion
employees across United States and Canada. Consolidated North American
providers. Converted incentive systems to include safety based metrics.
. Negotiated contract renewals with carriers and assisted in union
meetings for favorable terms. Initiated a "carve-out" of EAP/ behavioral
mental health benefits with independent provider.
. Designed new Section 125 Flexible Benefits Plan and open enrollment
format with benefit dollars and flex costs. Converted from "Point of
Service" to PPO model for main plan.
. Designed action plan and increased 401(k) plan participation from 78% to
90%.
. Questioned conventional procedures when 401(k) plan did not pass
nondiscrimination testing and updated procedures to pass these tests.
. Enrolled 60% of eligible employees in a discounted Employee Stock
Purchase Plan with Stock Appreciation Rights, exceeding corporate goal.
Coordinated stock option/ stock appreciation right plans through
transfer from privately held U.S. stock to publicly traded status.

participants. Received Chairman's Achievement Award for the employee
adding most value to company.
. Managed and directed the company's major downsizing initiatives. Helped
design and deliver benefit enhancements to allow for early retirements
and reductions in workforce. Sponsored individual and group sessions at
for employee problem resolution at headquarters and manufacturing
plants.
. Coordinated the integration of employee compensation and benefit
programs of acquired companies. Coordinated subsidiary integrations,
including a joint venture with Exxon Mobil and an asset acquisition of
Calgon Corporation.
. Created, programmed, and implemented a complex calculation and statement
system for qualified and nonqualified pensions, saving several hundred
thousand dollars. Received company's top award for best overall
solution for "the most critical human resources need."
. Administered Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), handled allocation of
preferred dividends, and calculated annual share contributions based on
eligibility requirements. Performed final allocation and terminated the
plan when company was sold.
. Developed Ex-Patriot pension programs for Third Country Nationals in
Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
. Successfully introduced a cash balance plan, made critical pension
modifications, improved the investment fund choices in the 401(k) plan
and migrated employees to an international pension program. Savings
exceeded $7 Million.
