Manager, North American Transportation
Manage freight transportation-related operations, administration,
procurement, process improvement and strategy. Serve as primary
relationship manager for strategic third-party Lead Logistics
Provider partnership and various transportation companies. Manage
four direct reports and various project teams encompassing 20+
company and third-party professionals. Design and execute key
initiatives and programs to enhance the operating, service and
cost effectiveness of the company's overall supply chain. Recent

. Savings Accomplishment - Led new Core Carrier sourcing/selection
processes for Truckload, Intermodal and LTL services which identified a
high quality / best value Carrier base while yielding savings off of
baseline transportation costs (Truckload = ~16%; LTL = ~26%). Set-up
KPI/efficiency dashboards and savings trackers which are enabling
sustained savings, capacity utilization and service levels.
. Contributions to Sustainability - In 2009, formally established Carrier
participation in the US EPA SmartWay Partnership as a new, key selection
criterion for all freight sourcing exercises. Used freight awarding
process to inject more SmartWay Partner Carriers into the overall mix of
Carriers. As a result, presently 85+% of total company shipments are
being serviced by SmartWay Partner Carriers with Top Scoring SmartWay
Partners handling 65+% of the total; present efforts involve leading
greater migration to greener modes of transportation.

. The Gillette Company (Proctor & Gamble) - led a client and project team
of 20+ individuals in a project which addressed $165 million in global
logistics/distribution activities via strategic sourcing and
collaborative process improvement initiatives; spend addressed included
European transportation and distribution ($61MM), Asia-Pacific
transportation and distribution ($14MM), global air freight/small parcel
($15MM) and North American truckload/intermodal ($35MM); identified
annual savings of $12+MM
. Caterpillar - trained and led a client team of 20+ individuals through a
successful end-to-end sourcing program of key packaging materials (e.g.,
pallets, wood crates/boxes, corrugated, specialty packaging) and contract
packaging; sourcing program included commodity and supply market
research, RFI/RFPs;
e-Auctions, specification rationalization, supplier negotiations.
Overall annual savings of $6+MM achieved (~8%).
Mergers and Acquisition Integration
. $1B market leading candy/confectionary producer - provided post merger
integration-related supply chain start-up support by developing and
driving processes in distribution planning, logistics performance
management, customer order prioritization and tracking; effort included
leading a team of database programmers in the rapid development of an
order/shipment prioritization and tracking tool which integrated data
from the client's SAP system and two 3PLs' Warehouse Management and
