Served as the Public Information & Special Projects Manager
to 2nd largest States Attorney's Office in Illinois, working
directly under State's Attorney Joseph E. Birkett. Performed
the duties of Press Secretary, handling all media questions
and issues, including: coordinating all press conferences for
major crimes; coordinating tv-radio-newspaper interviews for
the State's Attorney and staff; conducting daily interviews
for media on issues involving office prosecutions, pending
investigations or office issues. Performed the duties of
Special Projects Manager, which included any task or project
as assigned by the State's Attorney, including:
1)Legislation. Managed the office's legislative agenda by
taking ideas for legislative changes and fashioning them into
bill format, forwarding them to Springfield, working closely
with the office's lobbyist to locate sponsors and monitoring
the bills as they traveled through the General Assembly;
2)Task Forces & Boards. Served as a member and coordinator
for every task force and board affiliated with the office,
including but not limited to, the DuPage County Gang Task
Force, DuPage County Juvenile Justice Council, and the DuPage
County Children's Advocacy Center Governing Board (associate
member), requiring development of expertise in a variety of
subject areas; 3)Public Education Programs. Coordinated the
presentation of a multitude of educational seminars for law
enforcement as well as the general public, presented to
groups of up to three hundred on topics such as gangs, child
abuse, drugs, Open Meetings Act/Freedom of Information Act,
and mandatory reporting of child abuse; for law enforcement,
assisted with seminars on numerous topics, including DUIs,
juvenile law, gangs, school liaisons, new laws, blood draws

Served as Assistant to Senator James 'Pate' Philip as he
transitioned into the office of Illinois Senate President and
during the legislative re-districting process. Primarily
handled all constituent services, represented the Senator at
local and political events, and ran the day-to-day operations
of the local Senate office, including coordinating staff,
office space/equipment and local issues.
