FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT

Licensed Reactor Operator - Responsibilities included performing safe operation of plant at power and during hot stand-by; coordinating-directing routine and maintenance activities in the control room; coordinating-directing field operator activities; refueling activities; procedure writing/review; and OJT.

Non-Licensed Operator - Responsibilities included operation of equipment in the auxiliary building, Emergency core cooling system, waste management system, turbine generator, secondary equipment, emergency feedwater system, emergency diesel generators, water treatment facility and intake structure.

Additional Delegated Project Management Responsibilities – As a member of the Operations Team, I was directly involved in the Critical Path planning and execution of Scope, Schedule, and Cost during the regularly scheduled 18 Month Refueling Outages, the Emergency Diesel Generator Upgrade occurring at the Turkey Point Site 1992 through 1994, the Reactor Power Uprate occurring at the Turkey Point Site 1995 through 1996, and the Steam Generator Change Out Outage occurring at the Saint Lucie Site 1997.

Engine Room Supervisor - Responsibilities included the supervision and instruction of all mechanical personnel with safely operating a nuclear power reactor/steam plant. Coordinated operations, maintenance, QA and QC controls and inspections, and testing of power plant's associated mechanical controls systems. Training and Classroom Instruction of new enlisted and officer students on designated ship board systems.

Ship’s Calibration Coordinator - As Coordinator/Technician, due to the ship’s overall calibration program falling behind the Periodic Maintenance Requirement (PMR)/Maintenance Resource Management System Scheduling Program, assigned to upgrade the ships Calibration Program utilizing PERT to meet critical deployment requirements; directly responsible for the training and mentoring of 14 personnel from various custodial positions on the ship; directly responsible for initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling of over 2500 test instrument calibrations.
