PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Over twenty years of experience in design and engineering of

Instrumentation and Control System for the petrochemical plants, power

plants and refineries. Responsibilities included design and specification

of instrumentation, control system, system configuration, project scope of

work and P&ID's development. Position ranged from Instrument Engineer to a

Control System Engineer to a Lead /Principal Control System Engineer on

various assignments from conceptual design to engineering and construction

of grass root complexes.

Instrument engineering activities included sizing calculation for control

valve, relief valves and orifice plates. Specified, selected and procured

field and control room instrumentation like control valves, relief valves,

temperature, flow inline instruments, electronic transmitters, electronic

controllers, recorders, indicators, continuous emission monitoring system,

process stream analyzer (GC) systems and designing Foundation Fieldbus

network.

Control System engineering activities included development of Distributed

Control System (DCS) specification, control narrative, safety system

narrative, cause and effect diagram, I/O distribution and loading,

evaluation and selection of system and I/O configuration. Developed control

room and rack room layouts. Supervise development of loop drawings and

wiring drawings. Also participated in factory acceptance tests, site

acceptance test and field startups of the units including loop checks and

validation of SIS. Perform QA/QC for the projects.

Lead Control System engineering activities included development of project

scope, man-hour estimates, cost estimates, and scheduling and progress

reports. Responsibilities also included supervision of control system

engineers and designers, P&ID development, HAZOP, SOA, PHA, AOA, control

system philosophy development and implementation, purchase order review,

vendor selection, commercial review of the purchase orders, vendor drawing

review, vendor compliance, development of change order and management of

changes. Interface with client representative and other disciplines for

smooth flow of information, instrumentation and system specification

development and system drawings development. Address exceptions and

clarifications to client's satisfaction.
