- Responsible for the management and daily operations of two teams
comprised of network engineers and network analysts to support all voice
and data networks in corporate campus, 9 distribution centers and over
6,600 Family Dollar stores country-wide.
- Provide managerial on-call support 24/7 for the entire Family Dollar
voice and data networks
- Directs, manages and supports implementation for WAN technologies
including cellular, satellite, and broadband.
- Develops processes and procedures for implementation of new tools within
the Network Operations Group.
- Works closely with telecommunications vendors in selecting, implementing
and reviewing technology deployment in network and voice installations.
- Keeps senior management apprised of network availability, advising
management during network outages or other situations which may impact the
network.
- Interfaces with other business units to provide situational awareness
and ensure network issues are considered during development of store
systems utilizing the network.
- Oversees and coordinates the daily activities of the
network/telecommunications team, including trouble ticket management,
escalations from Help Desk and Desktop Support teams and project
management.
- Responsible for managerial activities, including performance appraisals,
terminations and hiring.
- Ensures LAN/WAN, and Telephony configurations meet organizational needs,
utilizing outside support resources as appropriate.
- Interfaces with internal and external parties, including vendors, to

- Directed the activities of 31 military and contractor technicians engaged
in tracking and resolution, fault isolation, network security and service
restoration
- Developed and managed Service Level Agreements with 28 LAN centers in
Europe
- Managed center budget in excess of $3 million per year; monitored all
expenditures
- Created comprehensive technician training program reducing training time
by 75% and saved over $165K in commercial training costs
