Planning & Essbase Consultant who has personally worked on more than 50

Planning and Essbase implementations. Also a Hyperion design lead

certified Consultant with over 9 years of experience designing and

implementing solutions that have utilized the functionality of different

software packages, including the Hyperion and Cognos products. Currently

the OAUG Hyperion SIG Essbase Domain Lead.

As the founder of MindStream Analytics I have participated in many

In the role of Managing Director at Titan-Pinnacle I have created and

managed the Hyperion Planning and Essbase Practice overseeing a team of 17

consultants. Having started the practice, I have been personally

responsible for building the practice into a 7 million dollar practice with

Managed a six month fixed bid project that automated the creation of the

various FP&A presentation booklets for senior management

Budgeting redesign project

Led a redesign of an existing Planning and Budgeting solution in order to

make data entry and process flow more streamlined, due to the large

amount of Human Resources data that Edison wished to track within this

application

Medisys Health Systems

Planning and Budgeting project

With client support, grew a $60,000 proposal for a small Budgeting

solution into a $350,000 proposal to review budget processes and

implement a sophisticated budgeting application

Designed and Implemented the Planning and Budgeting solution for Medisys,

including a very sophisticated model that forecasts insurance

reimbursement for the Medisys Hospitals

Led a team from Medisys through the implementation of the Planning and

Budgeting system while training and tutoring the Medisys technical team

in how to administer the Hyperion Planning application

Puig North America Beauty

Administrative Expense Allocation Project

. Worked with the CFO and Vice-President of Finance to design and build a

Hyperion Planning application, which was used as a financial consolidation

tool as well as a budgeting tool

. Solely responsible for building the Hyperion Planning consolidation and

budgeting application which is used to streamline the flow of the

financial close, including generating journal entry amounts

. After implementation of the system I was engaged by the client to perform

their monthly financial close

Orix Financial USA

Administrative Expense Allocation Project

. Gathered an implemented requirements from Finance Dept for data mart

additions and Web enabled reporting which allowed Orix to identify and

reduce $390 million in bad debts

. Instructed future administrators how to use Web Application

Harry Fox Agency

ILS Reporting Project

. Customized all aspects of Cognos Upfront portal to provide seamless

integration with Business to Business web application. By doing this

Harry Fox was able to save a large amount of money by not having to build

an extension of their web application.

. Built reporting datamart structure and helped integrate Cognos LDAP

security with custom application LDAP security.

Park Place Entertainment

Financial Datamart Project

. Gathered requirements for additions to financial data mart. After

analysis of needs proposed and built an application to include Gaming

Commission data within the Park Place data mart so that business users

could compare their results with published results of competitors.

. Built various multidimensional cubes including Revenue Gaming cube to

show the profit per unit analysis.

Keystone Foods Inc

Planning and Budgeting Project & Weekly P&L Project

. Designed, developed, and deployed a Planning and Budgeting system in

Hyperion Planning.

. Proposed and designed a second Hyperion Planning application that

captured and reported a weekly P&L report. The weekly P&L application

reduced the preparation time of the weekly P&L report from 8 days to 2

days.

Horizon Health Care

Administrative Expense Allocation Project

. Gathered requirements from Finance Dept for expense allocations.

. Designed, developed, and deployed an automated system based on Hyperion

Essbase to allocate administrative expenses by products and market

segments, thereby creating a product and market segment P&L

Electric deregulation project called Electric Choice

. Designed and developed automated reporting for Electric Deregulation from

. Designed and developed an Impromptu reporting strategy for automated and

manual reporting that enabled PECO to focus their marketing efforts

during the electric deregulation.

BII developed a management philosophy that utilizes OLAP technology to

coordinate business metrics and measures to facilitate interdepartmental

communication. This enables coordinated decisions throughout a company.

This vision of a coordinated enterprise with data flowing through OLAP

cubes is being thought of as a crucial piece for companies trying to meet

the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. BII has developed a business

simulation that illustrates its coordinated organization methodology. The

simulation is the heart of an intensive three-day workshop called the BI

University.

As an analyst in this small environment, I helped to develop and maintain

the business simulation as well as teach the three-day seminar. Clients

utilize the seminar to gain ideas for design in their own companies. After

the seminar, the analyst works with clients to facilitate the creation of a

design architecture that coordinates the clients' metrics. The

underpinning of this course is the book "24 Ways to Impact Your Bottom Line
