Lead Test Engineer for the Windows 2000/NT/ARCserve and Windows
2000/NT/Backup Exec development portion of the Compaq Fibre Channel Storage
Area Network (SAN) solution. Duties included: Integration testing of
Computer Associates', ARCserve, and Seagate's, Backup Exec, backup software
packages, for functionality, compatibility, performance, and over all
reliability. The environment requires the use of low to high-end Compaq
Proliant servers (Proliant 850R through Proliant 8500), fibre channel
switches, hubs, and ethernet hubs. It also requires the use of a new fibre
to SCSI bridges and DLT tape libraries. Responsible for determining the
root cause of failures and provided feedback to respective groups.
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication of problems, which
were to be fixed by internal development groups as well as the developing
companies, Computer Associates and Seagate software. Worked on this
Research and Development Project for the 36 months.
Test Engineer
Designed and implemented test tools for audit of Compaq Fibre Channel and
SCSI intelligent and non-intelligent controllers. (Host Bus adapters, Smart-
2LS, Smart-2DH, Smart-2/P, and Smart-2/E) Worked on Compaq's First Channel
solution Project called, The Siamese Project. The project required an in-
depth understanding of how Fibre channel and SCSI works, especially
together. This project allowed the industry to use one server and manage a
Terabyte of data using Compaq's storage arrays. In addition, I Performed
compatibility tests for various Compaq Servers and SCSI peripheral devices
using Compaq Intelligent and Non-Intelligent controllers. Determined root
causes of failures and provided feedback to respective groups. Wrote test
plans and procedures to ensure a thorough coverage for different test
scenarios. Developed and maintained script files for script driven test
programs. Used SCSI and Fibre channel analyzers, oscilloscope and in house
test tools.
Circuit Board Analyzer
Analyzed SMT circuit boards for various types of manufacturing failures
using schematics and mylars. Used test tools such as oscilloscope, function
generator, and multimeter to assist in the troubleshooting process. Other
