OBJECTIVE
To attain a position of responsibility within a professional company,
whose recognized goals are total customer satisfaction, while providing
challenging
positions, a pleasant working environment, and opportunity for its
employees.
WORK HISTORY
2007 - Present, Customer Service Representative, Toll Global Forwarding
In this position, my duties are to help the customers with their
transportation needs so that their shipments arrive at destination in the
most expedient manner possible. It involves all the steps from time of
pick up to their client receiving the consignment in the foreign country.
I arrange pickups, check documents when the freight arrives at my
warehouse, notify the destination office, make bookings with the airlines,
advise the foreign agents of rates to be charged, verify Dangerous Goods
documents are in order, file shipper's export declarations with U.S.
Customs, and confirm with the carrier that goods are at destination.
2004-2006 Air Export Agent, Emotrans, Los Angeles, CA.
At Emotrans my duties included arranging pickups, checking documents from
shippers, making bookings with airlines, negotiating rates with foreign
agents, and confirming shipments reached their destinations.
1999 - 2004 Air Export Dept. UTI (USA) Inc.
I gained experience in working for a large multi national forwarder where
my inter-personal skills were tested to their fullest. Not only was I
handling many large export customers, but I was also part of quite a large
department where teamwork and getting along with my co-workers was most
important.
1997 - 1999 Air Export Dept. All Nations, Inc.
All Nations' specialty is looking after the distribution of film for the
movie industry.
I learned the challenge of working within a tight schedule, where speed and
accuracy where most important. The vast majority of work I handled was of a
very time sensitive
nature and at times I had to work long hours to make sure all the deadlines
were met.
1992 - 1997 Air Export Dept. U-Freight America, Inc.
Being a small department my duties covered the full spectrum of airfreight
export, including telephone marketing, quoting, customer service, cutting
airway bills, closing consolidations, and airline liaison re; rates and
bookings.
1990 - 1992 Assistant to Operations Manager, Allied Airfreight, Inc.
Allied was a small domestic and international multi-modal forwarder. I
became proficient in all the various aspects of Allied's operations, viz.
LTL and FTL trucking, ocean freight, domestic and international airfreight.
1983 - 1990 Import/Export Agent The Myers Group, Inc.
I received all my industry grounding at Myers. Over a period of seven
years, I progressed through every department, learning all aspects of
international forwarding. I started in import breakbulk, moved into export
documentation and customer service and finally finished up in inside sales
support.
