Thermal and CFD projects
Unsteady State Analysis of Two Dimensional Heat Conduction August, 2011
Executed a code in Matlab to conduct a comparative study of implicit and explicit finite differencing schemes with
respect to stability and demonstrated the economy of FTCS schemes.
Demonstrated the stability of Alternating Direction Implicit methods.
Steady-State Two Dimensional Temperature Distribution Simulation September, 2011
Implemented a code in Matlab to simulate two dimensional temperature distribution using PSOR and LSOR schemes
with varying relaxation parameters for a square domain with combustion chamber boundary conditions.
Demonstrated the economy vs stability characteristics of LSOR scheme.
Obtained the Optimum relaxation parameter value.
One Dimensional Wave Equation Analysis September, 2011
Simulated non-linear solution schemes in Matlab to understand the propagation of a wave in a square domain.
Focused on flux limiter concepts, Runge-Kutta and Modified Runge-Kutta schemes.
Executed multi-step schemes to make a comparative study.
Analysis of Lid Driven Cavity October, 2011
Laminar incompressible flow was simulated in Matlab.
Solutions to vorticity, stream function and velocity fields was sought in a simulation using SOR schemes.
Riemann Problem Simulation November, 2011
Simulated the Euler Gas Equation.
A methodical simulation using Navier-Stokes equation was done in Matlab using TVD schemes, Monotone schemes to
simulate the solution to Riemann problem.
Simulation Projects
Simulation of Bicycle model May, 2011
Simulated linear model called “Bicycle Model” in Matlab working of a car on proving grou nd to study the
performance of a car.
Data was taken from a simulator in the NYSCEDII lab.
g-g graphs were drawn at various points on the tracks to study the car behaviour was studied for under steer, overstreer
and neutral steer conditions.
Analysis of non-linear systems October 2011
Simulated Duffing equation in Matlab.
Analyzed the results obtained under various initial conditions and in absence of damping.
Drew analogy with stock market dynamics and hyper fast muscle extensions to illustrate the application of
fundamental mathematics for daily life paradigm simulation.
