leadership. A strategic thinker with a specific focus in leading software development, support and technical
operations teams (permanent and contractors, both on-shore and off-shore), improving operational efficiencies to
deliver on business goals.
Accomplishment H ighlights
• Provided vision, strategy, and plan to refurbish and modernize the information system infrastructure,
p roviding a foundation to introduce a new Services Oriented Architecture (SOA), standardizing
technologies to a Microsoft Platform, providing business the f lexibility and agility needed to make
changes in business decisions without the typical long development efforts associated with revamping
Legacy systems to support change. Enabled an AGILE approach to the SDLC engaging a ‘shoulder to
shoulder’ work relationship with business partners. Reduced overall cost for the environment and
resources as well as reducing and stabilizing overall IT software development operational expenses.
P rovided business agility to an organization hampered by, and long-rooted in, t raditional application
a rchitecture.
• Directed an Extract, Transfer and Load (ETL) effort to migrate all of the organizations key data from
a Legacy Oracle DB environment to a new SQL Server Enterprise database to support the new SOA
A rchitecture.
• Directed a multi-year $2 Million offshore IT Managed Services Engagement. Defined standard
operating procedures, service level agreements and communication protocols. Resulted in significant
i mprovements in system stability and adherence to project schedules.
• Defined and implemented a 2 year roadmap. The roadmap formed the bases for annual operating
p lans/budgets and guided the management team to strategically align objectives, structure teams and
define t raining/development plans to support long-term goals.
• Reengineered the Software Development Methodology enabling a geographically distributed team to
deliver software that aligns with customer expectations. Resulting methodology ensured consistency
and repeatability of procedures and responsibilities across all aspects of the SDLC; planning,
analysis, design, development, integration, testing, implementation, post implementation / “burn-in”
and support.
• Implemented measureable Quality Controls to ascertain client departments overall satisfaction with
I T. Resulted in continued increase of client department satisfaction score over a two year period.
• Led the effort to define and implement the organizations first IT Service Level Agreements,
measuring the production support teams’ performance toward meeting the defined commitments and
establishing improvement plans in areas of deficiency.
• Int roduced and championed project management concepts to the organization for the entire Software
Development Lifecycle for all IT related projects, including a project work stream for efforts high in
complexity, risk, and duration that require a more r igorous planning process as well as a work stream
for sustained engineering efforts, low in complexity, r isk and duration.
