performed work conforms to contract documents, Coordination and supervision of subcontractors; Create and
assemble complete bid proposals/bid packages for prospective projects; Design of projects not requiring a
registered Engineer; Coordination and supervision of snow removal activities.

Central Artery Tunnel Project C17AA (I-93 Tunnel Finishes Project)
Project Superintendent
Responsible for field supervision, labor/equipment/material procurement, scheduling, coordination, and cost to
complete reports for the following activities:
Extensive preparation and placement of over 2 million square feet of Class “A” Concrete Overlay, and
placement of over 2.75 million square feet of Bituminous Concrete wearing surfaces for I-93 North, South and
related ramps; Full depth roadway and utility construction; Preparation and installation of Elastomeric
Concrete expansion joints; Demolition and repairs to structural invert slabs, wall and ceiling joints; Diamond
Grinding utilized both for demolition and for corrective changes in the roadway profile and cross-section; All
concrete work including C.I.P. barriers, ceilings, stairs, slabs and utility encasements; Training of multiple crews
on the operation and safe use of a 20,000 psi hydro-demolition unit and Bidwell Concrete Paver; Slurry wall
repairs; Leak repair of slurry wall and C.I.P. wall/ceiling joints; Assisted with foreword pricing for change
orders; Coordination with in-house Traffic Engineers along with the Owners Representatives and the
Massachusetts Turnpike Authority for nightly tunnel and ramp closures; Supervision of Bituminous Concrete
paving operations at Logan International Airport; The determination of the most efficient and cost effective
procedures to complete the above activities in a safe and profitable manor.
Assistant Superintendent (11/99 to 4/00)
Responsible for obtaining quotes for Purchase Orders for purchasing of equipment and
materials. Developed a system for tracking quantities and submitting payment requisitions
for all Unit Price and Lump Sum pay items. Coordinating and tracking all work done
outside the contract scope on a Time and Materials Basis. Maintain R.F.I./Field Change
Notification log and ensure ongoing fieldwork conforms to any design changes. Established
and supervised the survey department on a daily basis. Coordination and supervision of
masonry work for Cross Passages, Egress Stairways and Utility Rooms. Assigned work
activity codes to Foremen’s daily time cards; Field verification, that ongoing work of all
tunnel components performed by Ironworkers, Carpenters, Masons, Plumbers, Electricians,
Operators, and Laborers conforms to the contract documents.
JAY CASHMAN CONSTRUCTION (MODERN CONTINENTAL) - Cambridge, MA (2/05 to 3/06)
Massachusetts Highway Department Route 3 Expansion Project
Project Superintendent
This design-build project along the 27 miles of Route 3 from Route 128 to the New Hampshire border included
adding one lane and shoulder in each direction, replacement of 47 bridges, on/off ramp and local road
reconstruction, and drainage/utility improvements. Responsibilities as Project Superintendent included field
supervision, scheduling, and coordination of suppliers union employees, equipment and subcontractors,
quantity take-offs for material procurement and coordination of complex lane closures for the following
activities; Full depth roadway construction, Installation and improvements of drainage, water and
underground electrical systems; Detention pond construction; Installation of bituminous concrete paving;
Installation of over 5 miles of granite curbing; Fiber optic duct bank construction; and all components of
highway, ramp and local road construction.
M. DEMATTEO CONSTRUCTION – Braintree, MA (12/96 to 11/99)
Central Artery Tunnel Project C07D2 (I-90 Logan Airport Interface)
Survey Crew Chief/Field Engineer
Responsibilities included the daily coordination and supervision of up to four survey crews to support construction
activities for a cut and cover tunnel, elevated viaduct roadways, road and utility construction and numerous
permanent and temporary roadway re-alignments accessing a busy international airport; Coordinating with
Superintendents and Foreman on a daily basis to determine optimal layout requirements as work progresses;
Installation and operation of duel-plane laser system for concrete placements of up to 2500 cubic yards; and
Assisted Superintendents with verification that ongoing work conforms with layout given in the field

Responsibilities for this Civil Engineering and Consulting firm included; Design and drafting of subdivision,
roadway construction, site work, septic system and pump station projects; Layout for contractors as required for
the above mentioned activities; Performing material take-offs and assisting with Engineers’ Estimate for public
work that the firm designed; Collecting existing condition survey data for various projects; Collecting as-built
