Summary
Electromechanical Engineer seeking entry level engineering position.
Education
B.S. in Electro-Mechanical Engineering GPA: 3.474
Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA May 2012
Professional Accomplishments
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in Massachusetts April 2012
Work Experience
09/2012 – 12/2012
Teradyne Inc., Test Development Engineer
As a member of the DC Verification group, provided hardware support and troubleshooting for Teradyne's J750 and
UltraFLEX test systems, including associated instrument boards, host computers, and operating system s images.
Assisted engineers and technicians with subsets of major projects, including schematics for hardware rework, and
design verification within a controlled test environment.
Utilized Teradyne's IG-XL software to perform calibration, performance verification, and checkers on various boards.
Determined sources of failure and directed to proper party for repair or modification as needed.
06/2011 –08/2011
MBTA, Engineering Co-Op
Performed data management for the MBTA.
Converted paper plans and drawing to a digital form and organized relevant information into a searchable format.
Reduced time to write conduit letters and locate information by over 50%.
05/2010 – 08/2010
Wentworth Institute of Technology, Research Assistant Co -Op
Performed an independent research project at WIT on crustacean nerve signals.
Designed procedure to expose peripheral nerves.
Designed analog circuitry to acquire signals via a silver tipped electrode, and software to process th e signals via a
LabVIEW interface, along with data collection and analysis.
Academic Projects
Optical Filter for Mass Spectrometer
Worked in conjunction with Rock River Laboratories, r esearching solid state optical filters, AOTF and LCTF, for
integration into a mass spectrometer system.
Modeled existing system via Solidworks, made preliminary cost saving modifications, tested for structural feasibility.
Produced a paper design for the purchase and integration of a new filter, along with reductions in size and cost.
Electromechanical Automated Robotic Limb
Researched the operation of electrical signals in simple organic specimens.
Utilized Multisim and LabVIEW to construct a mixed signal system for filtering, and recording.
Primarily designed based on Op-Amp filters/amplifiers, along with LabVIEW toolkits for analysis.
Final output data was used to actuate a simple mechanical limb via a solenoid.
Patient Warming System for Thoracic and Abdominal Surgeries
Designed proof-of-concept model for heating patients during open body surgery.
Constructed an electronic control system using Multisim, composed of Op -Amps, an electric heating element, and
insulating layers, all under the control of an MSP430 microcontroller.
Audio Modulated Flyback (Plasma Speaker)
Utilized online schematics to construct a plasma speaker using common electrical components.
This speaker took an audio input from an iPod, ran the signal through a 555 timing chip for pulse width modulation,
and gated a MOSFET, which controlled a high voltage power source.
Technical Competencies
LabVIEW Solidworks Microcontrollers Visual Studio
Multisim AutoCAD C++ Visual Basic
