OH-58D Simulation Subject Matter Expert and Project Manager May 2008 – Feb. 2013
(Training Developer, Materiel Developer, Project Manager, Test Program Ft. Rucker, AL
Manager, Simulation Integrator).
Developed simulator requirements in conjunction with other stakeholders, advising acquisition officers during materiel
development, development and execution of testing and accreditation plans for all OH-58D simulations and
simulators. Significant efforts include the OH-58D Operational Flight Trainer, the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical
Trainer, and the OH-58D Cockpit Procedures Trainer. Awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for performance of
these duties.
Iraqi Armed 407 Program Training and Fielding Team Chief May 2011 – Sept. 2012
(Project Lead, Manager, Supervisor, Chief Pilot, Check Airman, Flight Instructor). Redstone Arsenal, AL
Lead a four person Training And Fielding Team (TAFT) in developing a program of instruction for Iraqi officers to
transition to the Iraqi Armed 407 aircraft. Developed, planned, resourced and executed the first Iraqi Armed-407
helicopter qualification course at Redstone Arsenal for two Iraqi officers and four contractor pilots including aerial
gunnery. Was prepared to execute the same training plan within the country of Iraq.
OH-58D Troop Standardization Instructor Pilot May 2005 – May 2008
(Chief Pilot, Check Airman, Flight Instructor, Lead Pilot and Manager). Ft. Bragg, NC
Developed, managed and executed a robust training plan for 20 plus pilots. Planned, scheduled and conducted
integration and gunnery training for all new unit pilots. Conducted annual proficiency, no notice and instrument check
rides for all unit pilots. Mentored and supervised two subordinate instructor pilots. Lead a section in combat as Air
Mission Commander and advised superiors on unit training and mission accomplishment during highly successful
operations in Mosul & Tal Afar, Iraq in 2006-2007. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, the Bronze
Star Medal and two Air Medals for performance of these duties
Flight Operations Officer Oct 2004 – May 2005
(Operations Manager, Flight Dispatcher). Ft. Bragg, NC
Coordinated and supported all facets of flight operations for an Aviation Attack Battalion. Scheduled and tracked all
flights, coordinated and supported filing of all flight plans. Managed a 5500 flight hour program for a fleet of 30
helicopters. Supervised and managed a staff of three flight operations specialists and ensured all pilot flying hours
were properly tracked and recorded in each pilot’s permanent records. Additional responsibilities included flight
instruction and operational missions as required.
Observer Controller Mar 2001 – Oct 2004
(Training Developer, Instructor, Evaluator, and Analyst). Hohenfels, Germany
Observed and controlled company sized (10-12 aircraft) aviation units while conducting high intensity simulated
combat training. As an army aviation technical and tactical expert, provided analysis for aviation unit operations
encompassing compliance with international aviation regulations, Army Aviation and Safety regulations, and standard
operating procedures (SOPs). Prepared after action reviews to provide feedback to evaluated units to improve their
operations and procedures and conducted research on ways to improve unit operations. Utilized expert mission
planning and flight planning software experience to integrate the Portable Flight Planning System (Falcon View) as the
flight planning standard within the Combat Maneuver Training Center Aviation Detachment. Awarded the Meritorious
Service Medal for performance of these duties.
