Career Summary / Objective:
Having spent 36 years in oil field Drilling operations. I wish to use my experience to help an organization embrace and promote safe working techniques and practices in its operations. It is not just good sense, it is good business. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to help spot problems or areas that need improvement. My experience and training give me a unique ability to identify and assess situations and propose solutions to problems. By promoting operational excellence, it is possible to ensure consistency, protect the safety and health of personnel and maintain customer satisfaction. I have excellent communication and presentation skills and am fully conversant and comfortable with HSE management requirements. I am also highly capable of initiating and developing projects and achieving significant results in a safe and timely manner.
I feel that at this stage in my career I am able and willing to on pass to others the experience gained. Good presentation and interpersonal skills coupled with the enthusiasm to embrace and promote Safe modern working techniques and practices .Onsite supervision/coaching (especially of new team members) to ensure safe execution of operations. Work Experience:
Have worked for 36 years on most types of Rig, including being part of the commissioning team on 3 rigs 2 being cyber space units. Involved in all aspects of the operations from New Builds in Shipyards, Cold Stacking, and taking Rigs out of Cold stacking back into operations.
Varied from Platforms D.P. Drill ships, Semi- Sub’s. Deep Water Harsh Enviroment Jack-up’s and Tender Rigs.
Have been involved in two new builds with contract issues etc and am conversant with up to date computer drilling packages Cyber base x 2 and the education of local workers in the understanding and running of same. I have worked in Norway for 10 years and am conversant with Norwegian rules and regulation and have attended the Technical Drilling school in Stavanger.
I am at this point in time working in Brazil as OIM on a D.P. semi.

2011 to Present BP S&OR Rig Audit, Sunbury on Thames, London.
Joined BP S&OR Rig Audit Group as a Drilling equipment, procedures and operations Auditor. Working 21 days on and 21 days off. Auditing most types of drilling rigs around the world from land rigs, tender rigs up through to 6th Gen Drill ships.
2004 to 2011 Ensco plc. London
Joined as Night Tool pusher on the E88 jack up in Qatar. Working for Ras Gas. Gained promotion to OIM and worked in Qatar for 4 years until I was requested to go to the Ensco Deep Water Unit. Joined the E7500 in Australia working for Chevron. Rig then moved to Keppel Fels repairs and upgrades. Developing works copes for rig deployment to Brazil, to meet Petrobras specifications. Upon completion of the upgrade we sailed from Singapore to Cape Town with fuel bunkering taking place in deep water off the Madagascar coast. And commenced to bring the E7500 on contract with Petrobras.
1997 to 2004 Night Tool pusher – Smedvig Offshore A.S. Norway.
Held position as a Night Tool pusher / Operations Leader on the “West Epsilon” Deep Water Jack/up rig. Drilling extended reach, High Press High Temp wells in Norway. Involved in the installation of New High Tech computer system with the New Ethan braking system and general upgrading of pipe handling Equipment and training of crews. Education in Norway was the Mandatory three-year Technical Drilling School.
1988 to 1997 Driller – Maersk Contractors, Denmark.
Worked as a Driller on both Semi and Jack/up rigs, last rig worked was the “Maersk Gallant” in Norway. Worked with Ross Hill S.C.R. Control system, Cameron B.O.P. Controls &NL (DSC-600) Compensator and Martin Decker drilling instrumentation (1998-1992)Assisted with the installation of Maritime Hydraulics equipment, D.D.M. 650 top drive, pipe handling Equipment and crown compensator on the Semi “Maersk Highlander” North Sea. Have worked on High Tech drilling packages from 1992 up to present day.
1983 to 1997 Assistant Driller – Houlder Marine Drilling Company.
Joined as a Derrick man and gained promotion to A/D on Semisubmersible rig “High Seas Driller” in the North Sea. Also worked on Jack-up rigs with Marathon Le Tourneau Jacking systems for 1 year. In the North Sea for Houlder.
1980 to 1983 Derrick man - Jebsen Drilling, Norway.
Worked on the Semi “Aladdin” in Norway, gaining valuable safety experience from the Norwegian sector. Then transferred to a D.P. Dynamic Drill Ship Pacnorse-1 in the Mediterranean as a Derrick man.
1978 to 1980 Roustabout – Dan Smedvig, Aberdeen.
Joined as a roustabout with Dan Smedvig on the Heather Alpha Platform .promoted to roughneck after six months. Working in pump room, Drill floor. Left the company to gain floater experience.
1976 to 1978 Deck-Hand – A-Z Marine Offshore, U.S.A.
Joined as a deck hand, promoted to Bosun on Ocean-going anchor handling Tug Boats, working with pipe laying barges catching anchors etc. In the North Sea in both Norwegian and British sector. Including Ocean tows with pipe laying stingers from the U.S. to Norway.
