DAEWOO INTERNATIONAL CORP, Myanmar
Resourcing & Development Specialist (Jan 2010 to Sept 11)
Profile:
The Shwe and Shwe Phyu fields are essentially gas fields and are located
within the Bay of Bengal, offshore western Myanmar. The Shwe greenfields
development consists of a Central Drilling, Production and Processing
Platform (SHP) in 111m of water, a 100km pipeline to the Onshore Gas
Terminal & Supply base and a 600km pipeline to China.
Duties:
o Developed and set up the Daewoo Training Academy for Burmese National
employees.
o Development of the O&M HR Policy Manual including salary banding,
terms & conditions, benefits, position descriptions and profiles.
o Development of a Competency Standard & Strategy for Daewoo across all
operations including documentation and tracking systems to ensure and
verify competency.
o Development of the prestart O&M training budget ($4.8m USD).
o Developed the Resourcing Strategy for the O&M Team.
o Managed the Resourcing function for all the O&M Team, including
Nationals, Regional and Western expatriates (220 people).
o Development of an activities plan to ensure all Resourcing &
Development activity is identified, tracked and monitored with regular
progress reporting to the senior management Ops Readiness Team.

Profile:
Prosafe Production Services is an organisation with 10 Floating Oil & Gas
facilities operating globally. My role was to manage the Training and
Development of Prosafe people across all facilities. This involved me
working in locations such as Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Ivory
Coast, Gabon, Congo and India.
Three new conversion Greenfield projects in Singapore during 2007-2009
included:
o Azurite FDPSO - Murphy, Congo (First ever combined drilling &
floating production facility)
o Cidade de Sao Mateus - Petrobras, Brazil (Prosafe's first Gas
FPSO)
o Ningaloo Vision - Apache, Australia
Duties:
o Generalist HR.
o Developed a Training & Competency Standard for Prosafe across all
operations.
o The Implementation of that standard to ensure compliance across all
operations.
o Work with the management teams to identify training needs.
o The development of facility training matrix to ensure minimum
competency levels are maintained offshore at all times across all
facilities.

KOREA NATIONAL OIL Corp, Vietnam (PSN & PTSC)
Resourcing & Development Specialist (Jan 2006 - July 2007)
Profile:
The Rong Doi greenfields development is situated 320 klms off the coast of
Vietnam. It comprises of a Processing & Accommodation Platform Bridge
linked to a Wellhead platform. Production from this gas field is currently
from 5 wells in the Rong Doi reservoir and one well producing from the Rong
Doi Tai formation. Wellhead gas is compressed by a gas turbine driven
compressor while an electrically driven flash gas compressor recovers gas
released during the stabilization of condensate. All gas is processed prior
to being exported to the NCS pipeline. A dedicated FSO receives the
condensate from Rong Doi prior to being exported by tanker.
Duties:
o Recruited to perform the same duties as my previous role which
includes the recruitment of all personnel, all pre start training for
the team in preparation for offshore operations, developing the
competency model along with ongoing training coordination and
planning.
o The management of a team of 3 people.
JAPAN VIETNAM PETROLEUM Co, Vietnam (AK & PTSC)
Competency Development Manager (Sept 2002 - Dec 2005)
Profile:
Offshore based position on the Rang Dong field greenfields development
Central Production Complex situated 90 klms off the coast of Vietnam. The 7
platform facility comprises of gas lifted wells reaching multiple producing
zones of a complex reservoir supported by water injection. Liquids
collected from four distributed wellhead platforms are processed on an FPSO
prior to tanker export. Collected gas is compressed for gas lift and
further conditioned for pipeline export. Water injection pump and gas
compressors are gas turbine driven with electrical power being provided by
two gas turbine driven generators.
Duties:
o Responsible for the Competency Based Training Assessment function
within the facility including the design and development of the
complete competency model, development of training plans for each
position and individual, conducting and delivering training modules,
developing and conducting competency assessments including the
development and implementation of a competency tracking and reporting
system.
o Developed assessment material and training modules in line with HSE,
Maintenance and Production procedures.
o Development and facilitation of the people management processes
including coaching and advising senior management on people reviews,
performance appraisals, personnel development, training needs,
succession planning and Nationalisation.
o Acted as a mentor and confidant for the Vietnamese Nationals.
HR / Training Manager
Profile:
Based Onshore with JVPC, provided all HR, resourcing and pre start training
of all offshore personnel.
Duties:
o Carried out the resourcing and assessment of applicants against
personnel selection criteria for the JVPC Rang Dong Project of
approximately 80 offshore and onshore support personnel, including
National, Regional and Western Expatriates.
o Implemented a personnel selection and resourcing strategy in line with
the JVPC project requirements.
o Sourced training providers and coordinated all management, vocational
and safety training on time and under budget.
o Managed the prestart training budget (US$1m)
o Devised and implemented a personnel offshore logistics tracking
system.
o Coordinated the development of the Competency Framework and Competency
Based Training Assessment (CBTA) Modules.

greenfields development based in Vung Tau, Vietnam.
