Over twenty five years as Director of Projects, Director of Engineering, Program Manager and a Project Manager with hands-on experience focused on long term client relationships and performance assurance. Experience includes;

1. Execution of large projects (+$4B) globally including fast track design-build, vertical construction Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) using Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Plus (CP) and Unit Priced (UP) contract structures.

2. Extensive use of Project Management Institute (PMI) Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) processes

3. Overhauling ineffective methods and creating new, efficient and innovative processes using LEAN Six Sigma methods

4. Capture, start-up and the execution of fast track projects including 20+ outages with durations from 20–90 days and direct responsibility for 800+ engineers, field staff and craft

5. Building loyal and self sustaining teams with a proven ability to met profit expectations, manage multiple concurrent projects at geographically dispersed locations, deliver services as contracted while meeting client expectations

6. Negotiating labor agreements for client advantage with AFL-CIO Building Trades at the local, project and national levels including reduced wages for maintenance tasks, janitorial tasks, valve maintenance, turbine repairs and utilization of cadre crews

7. Orchestrating major changes to contract structures for managing large, complex projects

8. Evaluating and realigning organizational infrastructure and practices by designing, developing and implementing new, streamlined, efficient processes, policies and governance protocols for EPC project management systems

Bruce Power Unit 1 and 2 Restart Program (June 2008 – January 2011)

Director of Projects, Engineering and Return to Service – At $4.2B the Bruce Power Uni1/Unit 2 Restart Program is one of the largest active projects; responsible for direct supervision of professional staff (300+) and contracts valued at $2.5B including CANDU reactor retube, steam generator replacement, electrical systems upgrades, main condenser refurbishment, turbine upgrades, fire system upgrades, feedwater heater replacements and significant refurbishment and maintenance on systems, structure and components. Bruce Power site exceeded 20M hours without a lost time injury.

Conceptualize, develop and implement methods and governance to integrate Refurbishment Programs with On-going Capital Program including implementing PMIBOK, LEAN and Six Sigma principles.

Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure (March 2006 – May 2008)

Director of Projects - Directed capture, start-up and performance of Department of Defense (USACE, AFCEE, Navy, Coast Guard) and Department of Energy (DOE) design-build vertical construction FFP and CP infrastructure EPC programs worldwide ($1B+ annually).

In New Orleans directed USACE restoration projects including the capture, planning and start-up of Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (IHNC) Flood Protection Project ($1B+) which was the largest, fully funded USACE design-build construction management at risk project.
