Summary
I am a competent, reliable, and committed professional, who can approach
problem resolution creatively. I am currently working as a hospital
administrator. I have a proven record of success. Over the last 20 years I
have assumed increasing levels of responsibility as my skill and experience
with IT and administration has grown at a pace to match technology in
complex organizations.
Not only do I guide a small rural hospital, I also serve as an IT
consultant for both Sanilac County ISD Technical Computer programs and
Harbor Beach Community Hospital. In addition, I work as a volunteer for the
Saint Clair County United Way, providing computer expertise.
I attribute my management success to recognizing that people are the true
strength of any organization. Being adaptable and open to change is
important, but coaching, empathizing with, and empowering employees while
promoting teamwork and collaboration leads an organization to exceed
expected levels of performance with less investment.
I'd like to progress a situation equivalently challenging where I can
continue down a path of development and success.

Recent Professional Experience
11/2002 - Present
Administrator / Chief Information Officer, Deckerville Community Hospital,
Deckerville MI
As Administrator of the hospital I direct functional areas and activities
of senior managers. I also provide staff direction with an understanding
and adherence to established company policies and procedures. As CIO, I
supervise projects encompassing voice, data, imaging, and office-automation
for clinical and financial functions. I ensure compliance with government
standards and oversee system support, contract negotiation, training, and
budgets. I direct IT business function, including approval of overall
project plan, budgets, and work breakdown structure.
My responsibility is to establish and implement short- and long-term
strategies to deliver services to our hospital using reasonable schedules
and budgets. I identify improvement opportunities, then establish and
communicate goals and objectives to attain them. I define methodologies,
tasks, activities, and clearly describe roles and responsibilities of
performance to personnel. I communicate broadly to help ensure overall
coordination for cross-functional teams. Above all, I work with the
clinical staff to promote efficiency in the overall work flow. I had the
responsibility of implementing a new neurosurgery product line in
Deckerville, a unique project within small rural hospitals in Michigan,
Increasing monthly gross revenue by 30%.
Some of the projects that I have recently supervised include a complete
upgrade of network, switches and hospital wireless and a complete
conversion to a new Health Information System (HIS) with Electronic Health
Record (EHR), which I put in place within an 18 Month timeframe. I also
executed a drug dispensing system, a Picture Archiving and Communication
System (PACS), a Radiology Information System (RIS), a Lab Information
System (LIS) and a Computer Provider Order Entry system (CPOE).
One undertaking that I am particularly proud of consists of the
configuration, oversight and installation of a point-to-point wireless
network, connecting 8 hospitals in Michigan using funding from an FCC
Grant. This allows a sharing of medical information in the Thumb without
the need to travel vast distances.
.

Self-employed
As a contract network engineer for Siemens, it was my duty to plan,
execute, direct, and complete
IT-related consulting assignments, including IT strategy and assessments,
system selections and implementations, as well as process and performance
improvement initiatives. In the course of a project it was important to
understand and manage my firm's risk on IT projects and proposals. I

server, workstations, and training support.
