Austin ISD 2004 Bond Projects, 2005 Commissioning

Commissioned five phases of district's 2004 Bond program which included six

new schools, 15 additions and 50 renovation projects.

Provided basic commissioning for renovations and enhanced commissioning for

new construction and additions.

Involved with all phases of commissioning starting from Owners Project

Requirement (OPR) & Basis of Design (BOD) to reviewing of construction

documents to conducting pre-functional and functional testing.

All new construction received a minimum of two star rating from Austin

Energy Green Building Program (AEGB).

Saegert Transportation Facility, 2007 HVAC Design

9,000 square feet new building addition which included three multi-stage DX

cooling systems with terminal reheat boxes.

Provided HVAC, electrical and plumbing design.

Implemented rainwater collection system.

Implemented stand-alone local building controls with web server capability.

McCallum High School room 124 and 125 HVAC HVAC Design

replacement, 2008

Experimental design of HVAC system for two math classrooms using state of

the art dual path fan coil unit with dedicated outside air treatment

section.

HVAC design will be used for future single classroom renovation especially

in old schools where humidity control was a major issue.

Outcome of experiment helped district's decision on selecting equipment

manufacturer and extent of direct digital controls (DDC).

McCallum High Math wing HVAC renovation, 2009 HVAC Design

Provided design for HVAC and electrical renovation of 12,000 square feet

math wing

Design included installation of nine dual path fan coil units, new hydronic

piping, new digital controls and upgrading existing electrical circuits to

current city code.

Austin ISD 2008 Bond Projects, 2009 Commissioning

Involved in commissioning of district's 2008 bond program which includes

several new constructions, additions and renovations.

C Wing science classroom renovations, 2006 HVAC Design

Provided HVAC and electrical systems design for 8,000 square foot of

science lab/classroom renovation.

Design included three dual path rooftop units with dedicated outside air

treatment, new ductwork & hydronic piping, building automation system

(TAC), fume hoods and upgrading electrical systems to current code.

University Athletic Field House, 2008 Commissioning

Project included athletic field house capable of housing an audience of

1,600 and 1,000 square feet athletic training center.

Provided fundamental commissioning in accordance with US Green Building

Council and Austin Energy Green Building Program (AEGB).

Mechanical systems included variable volume air handling units with

terminal fan powered boxes, building automation system (Johnson Controls)

with sophisticated ventilation and day-lighting controls.

Austin Music Hall, 2009 Commissioning

Lead commissioning of city's iconic concert hall and theater that spans a

total of 43,000 square feet and seats an audience of 4,400 people.

Systems included heat exchangers, variable speed pumps, variable air

NASA Branch, 2007 HVAC Design

Designed HVAC system for 4,500 square foot new bank building.

Galveston Independent School District, Galveston, TX

Central High School Renovations, 2005 HVAC Design

Provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for phase 2 and phase 3

renovation of the project.

Project included installation of four new chilled water air handling units,

new ductwork and piping to tie band and workshop classrooms to existing

chiller and boiler system, and new building automation system.

LoanSTAR funded District-wide school renovation, 2005 Construction

Administration

15 projects for 12 schools which included construction of two new central

plants, replacing existing air cooled chillers with new high efficiency

water cooled chillers, installing two speed high efficiency motors for old

cooling towers, converting through chilled water piping systems to primary

secondary systems with variable frequency drives on secondary pumps,

installing dedicated outside air units to bring schools to new ventilation

code, replacing several old constant volume air systems with new variable

volume air handling systems with terminal boxes, replacing old boilers with

new low NOX boilers and installing new digital controls for all schools.

Managed day to day site responsibilities and provided on-site design

support to Contractors

Responsible for submittal reviews, site inspections, generating field and

project reports, resolving RFIs and issuing change-orders, managing pay

applications and final close-out documents.

Southwest Freeway branch office & retail showroom HVAC Design

Provided HVAC, electrical and plumbing system design for Shabana Motor's

new dealership branch.

College of Architecture, 2005 Energy Audit

Analyzed existing lighting systems to quantify energy savings that can be

achieved by proper implementation of occupancy and daylight sensors.

Recommended new lighting wiring design which adjusts interior lighting

based on occupancy and ambient conditions.

Retro-Commissioning of main campus buildings, 2006 Energy Audit

Analyzed existing mechanical and electrical systems of 13 campus building

for Centerpoint's commercial and industrial retro-commissioning program

which was administered by Nexant.

Conducted planning, investigation and final stages of the project.

Recommended energy conservation measures to reduce annual energy

consumption by 9,668,519 kW-hr which totaled to cost savings of $68,595 per

year. Implementation payback period was 1.3 years.

bank building

five star rating from Austin Green Building Program (AEGB).

Parmer branch, 2009 HVAC Design
