Testing & Documentation, Reporting

Description: Sonar is a bug-tracking tool used for tracking the problems

faced by the Customer with respect to an Apple product. The issues or

bugs are reported by the Customer with help of an Email or a fax or even

through phone. The Email address provided along with the product is

mapped to an Email address in Sonar. The Emails/Phone Ins/ Fax Ins sent

by the Customers for the problems faced by them are converted to a

Request in Sonar. All the activities performed for solving the issue are

mapped to this Request.

This project uses Obejective - C (Apple's language), C, C++, and Java.

For database connectivity it uses Oracle-10g.

The project uses JBoss 4.02 server.

Sonar is the business system used by Apple to address customer

requests/issues that are routed through email/fax/phone. To explain

better, Sonar system is an interactive Client-Server database

application used to track the resolution of escalated Requests and

Issues, Information about related Apple personnel, customers,

departments, miniteams and products. It can be considered as an Email

Management System to keep track of escalations sent to certain

departmental email addresses. It includes tracking and Reporting

functions that are not available with regular group email addresses.

Apple's .Mac Product Support and iTunes Music Support Teams are highly

dependent on Sonar system for their Customer Relations Management.

All the emails coming into Sonar system is automatically parsed to

equivalent models in Sonar database by a java program called Mail In

parser, that can be read by Sonar Client. Mail out parser is a java

program driven by daemon scripts, is meant for sending out the responses

from Sonar to the customer. Every Email to be sent out from Sonar is

done via Mail Out parser.

Documentation

Description: This Project is used basically for chatting purpose with

the remote clients or users on Internet or local networks. In this

project a java client-server combination is used to chat with remote

users. It uses Java as the implementation Technology. When a Client

wants to chat with a user on a remote host, he sends a request to the

Server with a identification name like chat-id, the server responds to

the request by identifying the client-id which is already registered in

the serverdomain and when matched his request is granted and the client

can begin to chat with the remote users present on the internet or local

network.
