Senior Programmer - EDI Specialist

I am currently the senior programmer in charge of all edi processing and

programming. I am currently

working on a project to automate all EDI functions that were previously

performed manually.

In addition, I am updating the Gentran software on the AS400 and the AS2

server to bring them up to current supportable levels.

March, 2001 - February, 2008 Springfield Precision Instruments

Senior Programmer/Analyst

Responsible for the day to day operations of two AS400's running MAPICS,

network infrastructure, all desktop hardware and software. Maintain two

W/2000 servers and a MS Exchange Server.

Set up AS1/AS2 EDI to run on the internet. This eliminated VAN charges and

saved up to $30,000.00 per year in communication expenses.

Designed and wrote all programs to process, format and transmit EDI over

the Internet using batch FTP

on the AS400 for selected trading partners.

Managed a project to integrate a new factory in China into the existing

network. This project entailed setting up all communications including VPN

and modifications to the AS400 Mapics package.

Performed the installation, configuration and migration into a new AS400

model 820.

April, 1998 - March, 2001 AM Cosmetics

Senior Project Leader / EDI Specialist.

Consolidated systems from multiple platforms (Unix and PC based) to JD

Edwards AS400. This was necessary to finalize the merger of smaller

companies onto one enterprise platform. Duties included programming,

personnel supervision and schedule setting.

Responsible for all Electronic Data Interchange, JD Edwards maintenance and

modifications, the day to day operations of two AS400's, network

infrastructure, all desktop hardware.

Consolidated Purchase Order and Invoicing EDI from five PC packages onto

one software package (Inovis 400). Wrote the interface programs to fully

integrate Purchase Order, Invoicing and Lockbox EDI into JD Edwards.

Responsible for integrating ASN EDI with PKMS warehouse package.

Performed the installation and configuration of two new AS400's. One model

730 replaced a model 620 and a model 720 to replace a model 500.

Supervised the move of 150 users into a new office facility. The move

consisted of leasing and installing desktop equipment, communications

setup, moving two AS400's from Brooklyn to North Arlington. This move was

started and completed in one month's time.

March, 1993 - April, 1998 NYK Line North America, Inc.

Secaucus, New Jersey

One of four project leaders on the North American staff of a major

international steamship line. Responsible for all customer and

marine terminal EDI using both Premenos/Inovis and proprietary

software processed on an AS400. Daily duties included:

-Trading partner setup and implementation

-Established test and production schedules

-Administered software upgrades and in-house program

modifications

-Troubleshooting and resolution of both internal and

external customer problems

-Founding member of the company wide EDI Quality Team

Programmed an EDI forecasting system for NYK Line Bulk Division and

Ford Motors. The system was designed to calculate the number of

vehicles available for a given voyage.

With another project leader, supervised and directed the

consolidation of two AS400's, one located in Long Beach, CA into

another located in New Jersey.

System designer and project leader of the team that developed and

implemented an automated rating system for ocean bills of lading. At

the time, NYK was the only shipping line in North America fully using

such an automated system. The system saved over $300,000 per year in

misrated bills of lading and increased rater productivity 2.5 times.

This project was featured in the Journal of Commerce.
