WORKING EXPERIENCE
Aug. 2008~ 3GSM Stack Team, Mobile Device Sector, Motorola
Duty: Senior Software Engineer.
Embedded software C programming in the development life cycle of
UMTS (3GPP) protocol stack features and performance optimizations
for the 3G handsets.
The work includes the embedded software C programming on 3GSM UMTS
Stack in TI DSP/ARM MCU. (The 3GSM UMTS stack software is the core
of Motorola Droid UMTS version - known as Milestone).
Feature owner of cell broadcast on 3G stack.
Involved in the whole software process on Stack Layer 1, including
feature definition, requirement, high level design, detailed design,
Embedded C Coding (Clearcase), review/inspection, STEP UT test
(Phone simulator), regression test and Hardware test.
Focus on idle domain in 3GPP UMTS stack.
Including PLMN scan, cell selection/reselection, cell
measurement/detection, Band management, Cell broadcast, Cell
Barring, Paging, UE camping and registration etc.
Other work includes Log analysis (Core dump and Panic analysis),
Test equipment usage (Anritsu MD8480C, Anite and HP8960), Hardware
Regression Test, 3G GCF Test, 3GPP SPEC, NI GPIB automation test,
Klockwork static code checking etc.
Aug. 2005~Jul.2008 Department of ECE, Florida International
University
Duty: Research Assistant.
Design and Development of Cognitive Jamming over OFDM (LTE physical
layer) wireless communication system.
Effective channel estimation and multiple user detection techniques
in LDPC coded MC-CDMA systems.
Besides the intensive Matlab simulation of the whole communication
system, some algorithms have been implemented on the GNU radio SDR
platform with USRP hardware as well.
6+ papers published related to my PHD thesis "Peak-to-Average Power
Ratio Reduced Parallel Interference Cancellation Multicarrier-Code
Division Multiple Access System with Anti-Interference Property".
Finished the project "Cognitive Jamming System" funded by Air Force.
I am also the primary co-author of the Software Defined Radio
bidding proposal for VIPMobile Inc. (Funded)
May 2004~Feb. 2005 Institute of Computing Technology, Beijing,
China
Duty: IC developer.
Developed Atmel AVR 103(L) instruction-compatible single chip (Low
Power ASIC MCU).
Writing Verilog code (SPI and I2C) for the MCU and writing the test
bench code to do the RTL verification in Modelsim.
Writing AVR 103(L) assembly to test its function on Xilinx Spartan-3
FPGA device
Jul. 1999~Sept. 2003 Hoperun Software Ltd, Nanjing, China (Japan)
Duty: CTO Assistant.
Project leader in lots of Management Information System (MIS)
projects (MMS from Japan Screen, BTO from MITSUBISHI and so on).
Related techniques: C/C++, DB2, C/S, XML, Windows Service, ASP,
Oracle, Servlet, J2EE, EDI, JSP, MD5, pro*c, Weblogic, Struts,
Castor JDO Web service, EJB etc. Engaged in project management
along with the technical work.
Wrote the program for C/S, web and desktop system. OOP C++/Java,
JDBC/ODBC/SQL and sever side programming (CGI/Servlet) were used.
As project leader, involved in all the aspects of these projects:
requirement definition, system design, coding, UT, SI, and customer
delivery (In Tokyo or China).
As CTO Assistant, attended the technical road map establishing in
the company.
Technical leader of novel product "Webpump"
(http://www.webpump.jp/), which can generate the web site code
framework on Java/Struts, to shorten developing cycle and reduce the
developing cost.
Aug. 1996~Jun. 1999 The 28th Institute, Nanjing, China
Duty: Software Engineer.
Developed Graphical User Interface (GUI) of Geographic Information
System (GIS) applications with C, C++ and Mapobject.
Wrote a similarity of Mapobject OCX on DEC Alpha Station with C++
(Parsing all the vector map data and displaying layer by layer).
