Currently provide writing, market research, editorial, project management and technical expertise in medical
communications, education, and scientific meeting management to this medical communications and publishing
company. Recently provided consulting on a response to an RFP valued at over $6 million.

PROJECT/ACCOUNT MANAGER, HOPA (2004 to 2009)
Played integral role in 5-year association management relationship between DesignWrite and its largest client,
HOPA (Hematology/ Oncology Pharmacy Association) – a professional organization of 1,500 oncology pharmacy
practitioners. Ensured all projects and deliverables met or exceeded client’s expectations.
Grant submissions: Provided oversight to continuing education grant application process for annual congress.
Managed budgeting and materials preparation for all components, including online submission, program
reconciliation and production of enduring materials for association’s HOPA University e-learning portal at
www.hopau.org. Wrote participant recruitment materials for HOPA University enduring programs. Served as
liaison between grantor and accreditor (HOPA) for grant requests.
Satellite symposia management: Worked with educational partners and internal science team in overseeing all
aspects of satellite symposia from submission to presentation at association’s annual conference.
Website/Survey/Listserv management: Actively managed organization’s website (www.hoparx.org), as well as
the creation of online surveys to support member needs, needs assessments for grant applications, and
managed association’s listserv communications.
Committee liaison: Served as liaison to organization’s publications committee, working closely with assoc-
iation’s executive board, as well as its committee chair and vice chair on its quarterly newsletter, HOPA News
(www.hoparx.org/Newsletter.aspx). Attended committee’s monthly meetings and worked closely with group and
stakeholders, including industry KOLs, on executing deliverables from its strategic plan.
Communication standards: Ensured integrity of DesignWrite & HOPA’s brand and image standards.
RESULTS:
• Over $1 million raised in educational industry support for HOPA’s annual conference, including $335,000
for 2009 meeting.
• Managed all satellite symposia for the 2009 national congress. Worked extensively with 3rd-party
educational partners. Each program received favorable marks for their scientific content and faculty, as
reported in the conference evaluation.
• Served pivotal role in development and launch of HOPA’s e-learning portal for oncology pharmacists.
Secured funding from Genentech as the charter and sole supporter of HOPA University for 3 years.

ADDITIONAL RESULTS:
• Introduced live, on-site lecture capture of symposia to annual meeting which significantly expedited
delivery of web-based educational interventions for CE credit for member education; a key deliverable of
the association’s strategic planning document.
• Increased HOPA’s listserv communications by 170% to more than 500 messages monthly, since its
inception. This was achieved through enhanced communications with an engaged membership.
• Collaborated with company president on a special task force to transform the DesignWrite
corporate website into a fully functional social networking destination.
• Delivered continuing medical education to over 7,500 primary care physicians through a series
of 15 live, coast-coast seminars in a jointly sponsored, highly acclaimed, national program with Pri-Med
on insulin resistance in diabetes management. Faculty consisted of endocrinologists and primary care
physicians.
PROJECT MANAGER (2002 to 2004)
Worked with company’s clients on several prominent initiatives that generated upwards of $5 million in revenue for
DesignWrite.
RESULTS:
• Managed 3 speaker bureau websites for Ortho Biotech’s oncology franchise. Faculty of 500
members consisted of oncologists, surgeons, hospital pharmacists, and nurses many of whom were
key opinion leaders in their areas of specialty. Business generated $0.5 million in annual revenue.
Therapeutic areas included oncology, critical care, surgery, nephrology, and neuroscience. Goal was to
deliver professional medical education on the proper treatment of anemia in an oncology setting.
• Researched, wrote and produced 50 reports in a 2-year period for a monthly online competitive
surveillance initiative presenting the latest scientific data published in peer-reviewed journals.
• To enhance the scientific integrity of the company’s multi-factorial needs assessments for new
business proposals and symposia, oversaw the creation, design, and implementation of online polling.
Over 115 questionnaires were created during a four year period utilizing a popular web-based polling
management platform, generating over 11,000 responses.
• Achieved over $200,000 in savings by migrating content creation of an online CME-accredited
newsletter devoted to women’s hormone education, from an outside vendor to an in-house scientific
writing team.
• Reduced costs associated with rich-media productions by 25% by cultivating relationships with
new business partners.
• Moderated and managed logistics for a $500,000 year-long series of multidisciplinary, continuing
education programs for 10,000 health care professionals. Partnered with Ortho Biotech and academic
accrediting body in creation of online testing and certificate delivery.
