Initially worked the Human Resource recruiting venue for 6 months
after which I began a consulting relationship with a manufacturing
company in northern Wisconsin beginning August 13, 2007. Projects
included; revamping the FMLA administrative process; bringing the
employee hiring process back in-house and integrating supervision in
the final selection; mentoring the HR Coordinator position to future
HR / Safety Manager; planning and development of consistent supervisor
training in HR and Safety topics; developed and managed all facets of
Human Resources programs, policies and procedures; facilitated and
improved labor /management communications allowing better working
relationships; reduced grievances by 75% through interest-based / win-
win concepts; worked in concert with the management team on the
Organizational Development of future management, line staff and

negotiate and administrate contract for 10 local unions, corporate
administrator for state and federal FMLA laws, assist law firm in
preparation for arbitration cases, mediator for interest-based problem

grievances reducing the occurrences at my assigned division by 65%,
counselled employees in accepting numerous changes resulting from the
buyout to help alleviate anxiety to improve department morale and work

Instrumentation Supervisor
October 1996-July 1997
Supervised and trained instrumentation technicians and electricians at the
Whiting division of the company. Assigned job duties, provide radiation
training, administered policies/ procedures/counselling and mentoring in
the everyday activities and people business elements of the job.
Coordinated with the mill/maintenance/engineering managers on downtime and
mill projects.
Instrumentation Technician
January 1978-October 1996
Installed, repaired and maintained electronic and pneumatic control systems
for the paper and pulp mills. Troubleshot and diagnosed instrumentation
systems on equipment and machines; designed and fabricated instrumentation
hardware to improve working systems and was working leader on a number of
projects and paper machine rebuilds.
Local Electrical Union President
January 1990 to December 1995
Represented 272 bargaining union members covering 3 separate contracts for
a paper company and 2 utilities while working full time as an
instrumentation technician. Worked in conjunction with management to
create a more user-friendly work environment in an effort to accomplish the
mission and vision objectives of the company and their workforce.

Completed Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, Airborne School and Ranger
School before being sent to South Vietnam stationed next to the DMZ to a

mountaineering and patrolling instructor. Also graduated the Special
