reconciliations of the State's over one hundred depository bank
accounts which entails reconciling hundreds of daily cash deposits;
and, reviewing, validating and reconciling numerous daily bank
adjustments and creating and posting correcting journal entries to
the books.
. Production of a daily report of book deposits in transit, bank
deposits in transit and a set of monthly aging schedules of all
outstanding bank deposits, book entries, and unresolved bank
adjustments.
. Work with the State's banking vendor as well as Treasurer's IT
staff to implement new banking products and technologies and any
other needed changes to ensure the State continues to receive
accurate banking information.
2001-2009:

entities with $200M in assets that consistently received
unqualified audit opinions.
. Managed a number of areas including investments, non-cash
donations, leases, loans, deposits, cash wires, and trusts. These
areas received no management comments and only one minor audit
adjustment in over seven years.
. Performed bank and investment account reconciliations and posted
reconciling entries for over a hundred accounts with zero year-end
discrepancies.
. Developed and upgraded allocation methodologies that allowed for
more accurate allocations of income and expenses.
. Improved senior management's awareness of our finances by preparing
reports of account balances, activity, performance figures and
financial statements.
. Key leader and contributor to the preparation by in-house staff of
the annual financial statements and footnotes.

. Successfully developed financial schedules for multiple client
utilities that were approved by state regulators as part of the
deregulation of electric and gas services.
o Financial schedules showed how all the utility's assets,
liabilities, revenue and expenses would be divided or
allocated to three follow-on entities.
o Work entailed gathering financial and budget data from
departments and financial documents, making estimates,
performing financial analyses of financial data, performing
allocations, extracting financial data from the client's
accounting system, and presenting the data in Excel
schedules.
. Aided a client with implementation of a new customer service
software system by developing the training manuals and lessons
delivered to service representatives.
1997-1999:
Navigant Consulting - Consultant in the Utility Consulting Group.
. Provided operational and business consulting services to electric
and gas utilities.
. Worked on a team that developed a business and cost separation
financial model used to spin off the retail functions of a
regulated utility company to a stand alone unregulated entity.
. Developed and implemented an allocation model for a client that
took every department's individual services and allocated those
services and their costs to every other department thereby allowing
the client to understand the fully loaded cost of every service in
the company.
. Developed an equipment testing program that was approved the by
state regulatory that would save a client millions of dollars in
maintenance testing costs.
. Performed audits of the following activities of utility companies
to ensure the utility was operating effectively and efficiently -
call center operations, customer satisfaction measurement programs
and complaint processes, inventory management, budgeting, work
management and customer service operations.
