Human Resources Business Partner - Current Position

This position manages the HR function in the areas of strategic

development, long-range planning, talent management, leadership & employee

development, compensation strategy, conflict resolution and training

initiatives. Responsible for providing support to the VP, Human Resources

in policy development and deployment of company initiatives for the East

Coast branches of Schneider Electric. Acts as strategic business advisor

to executive management for human relations issues, compensation strategy,

talent management, succession planning and other strategic initiatives

including change management and process improvement.

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County

Special Projects Manager, Office of the Mayor 2008 - 2009

This position was created by the Mayor in conjunction with an executive

order establishing the city's "Green Ribbon Committee".

. Advise the Mayor and Mayoral Staff on the development of the city's

environmental policy.

. Manage and coordinate 25 member citizen committee responsible for

making recommendations to the Mayor to make Nashville a leader in

environmental excellence.

. Create successful process and organizational template for the Mayor's

Green Ribbon Committee.

. Develop innovative, environmentally-friendly programs for the city

and Nashville community to save money and protect natural capital by

ensuring appropriate policies and initiatives.

. Coordinate Committee, City Departments, City Council, and partners in

the community to create and drive environmental programs to ensure a

greener and more prosperous city. Focus areas include clean air,

clean water, abundant open spaces and smart land use planning, waste

reduction and recycling, green building and energy efficiency and

conservation, renewable energies, as well as a transportation profile

that minimizes vehicle drive miles and fuel consumption as well as

maximizes alternative mobility including sidewalks, bikeways, and

greenways.

. Create and manage internal Metropolitan Government "Green Team"

comprised of leadership from across 12 departments with environmental

responsibilities including the Water Department, Planning Commission,

Public Works Department, Codes Department, Parks Department, Housing

Special Projects Manager, Public Works Department 2004 - 2008

. Plan, organize, and direct various activities of the refuse and

recycling programs and functions.

. Responsible for accomplishment of administrative, contractual,

programs and statistical analysis, and mandatory reporting to Council

and other governing bodies; as well as continuity of efficient daily

operations for solid waste and recycling related programs.

. Responsible for seeking and securing additional recycling

opportunities for the city from increased curbside services to

locations for new 24 recycling drop off sites.

Human Resources Manager - Compensation Division 1995 - 2004

. Manage the design, implementation and administration of compensation

and classification programs in support of the government's business

and strategic goals.

. Interpret regulations affecting these programs including FLSA and

FMLA and write and implement city-wide human resource policy.

. Supervise a professional compensation team of analysts and

administrative support personnel.

. Oversee and monitor departmental budget and position control system.

(Implemented organizational model for launch of integrated fleet services

of Nashville's information systems.

(Worked with small team to create city's first merit pay system.
