electronics, SMPS (switch mode power supplies), AC-DC and DC-DC conversion,

EMC compliance and EMI suppression for avionics systems. Skills include:

prototyping, CAD Design, analysis of technical designs and data (AC/DC

power, Ethernet, fiber optics, EMI/EMC, grounding/bonding),

designing/troubleshooting analog electronics (circuit analysis, schematic

capture), and writing/developing technical reports and presentations. In

depth knowledge in all aspects of audio electronics, including but not

limited to: acoustics theory, electromechanical transduction, transformer

design, testing, calibration, and tuning principles.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

* Analog RF/audio Electronics (circuit design, simulation, and analysis)

* High frequency PWM switching devices, EMI/transient surge protection

* Troubleshooting/Problem solving

* Technical Writing

* Cabling/Wiring Systems

* Acoustics: Testing, Analysis and Measurements

* CAD Systems (2D layout and 3D modeling)

* LED driver/power electronics design

EXPERIENCE

2008-2009 EMTEQ INC. (NEW BERLIN,WI) Electrical Design Engineer

Designed, analyzed, and evaluated buck/boost/hysteretic/flyback converters

for LED drivers. Determined courses of action for product design issues and

supported testing and prototyping functionaries. Designed overvoltage/short

circuit protection and EMI/RFI suppression for buck/boost converters on an

AC/DC bus. Technical consultant for IFE (in-flight entertainment) and

aircraft audio system integration.

. Developed transient surge protection circuitry for pre-existing design

which passed certification-within two weeks of employment.

. Developed three LED drivers simultaneously from cradle to grave-design

review, prototyping, testing-within five months.

2007-2008 WESTWIND TECHNOLOGIES INC. (HUNTSVILLE, AL) Avionics

Integration/R&D Engineer (UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, AH-64 Apache)

Worked independently in R&D (Research & Development) designing proprietary

modifications and electronics systems for military rotary aircraft (patent

pending). Conducted meetings/presentations with US Army customers and

vendors to discuss and initiate design solutions. Developed drawings and

documentation/specifications per customer requirements. Selected and

procured parts and components/equipment for design/product testing.

. Increased the range and luminosity of a pre-existing LED driver design

by 400% within three months of development.

2006-2007 BAE SYSTEMS/ELITE TECHNICAL (MOJAVE, CA) Component

Engineer, JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) CATBird (Cooperative Avionics Test

Bed)-contract

Worked independently selecting electrical connectors and backshells for

power, data, and audio signals. Performed as liaison with cable

fabrication and other engineering support teams to meet compliance with

customer requirements.

. Introduced consistency and coherence to a complex cabling system; sped

up progress for a program that was two years over-budget.

2006 PANASONIC (KNOXVILLE, TN) Speaker Engineer, Honda/Acura (ELS

Premium Sound System)-contract

. Worked independently designing subwoofer systems for '07 Acura TL,

'08 Acura MDX, and '08 Acura RDX.

. Resolved build quality issues with QA (Quality Assurance); reported

product performance concerns and logistics issues to the chief

engineer.

. Conducted tests: THD (total harmonic distortion), frequency

response, and electromechanical analysis(of product sample batches

to maintain quality control and consistent speaker performance.

2004-2006 BOEING (HOUSTON,TX) Electrical Engineer, International

Space Station, Electrical Utilities Design.

EWIS (Electrical Wireless Instrumental System)

. Developed cable drawings/wiring diagrams for power and data

delivery.

. Served as liaison with manufacturing for support of production

related issues.

. One of two key players in the resolution of a product failure that

jeopardized the performance and delivery of the hardware to the

customer (NASA).

. Advised senior engineer concerning EMI/EMC issues.

NODE1 (International Space Station Interface Element)

. Designed cable drawings wiring/diagrams for avionics systems and

components.

. Worked with a specialized engineering support team resolving real

time issues in regard to electrical systems with the on orbit crew

(astronauts).

. Worked independently designing drawings for the sequenced assembly

of the space station in accordance to mission chronology (stage

drawings).

. Selected by management to provide electrical systems and logistics

expertise for a space station element proposal.

. Served as mentor for summer intern.

2001-2004 BOEING (HUNTSVILLE, AL) Electrical Engineer,

International Space Station, Electrical Systems Design

WORF/HHR (Window Observational Research Facility Rack/Habitat Holding Rack)

. Performed hardware design verification analyses of customer

requirements and specifications.

. Designed cable drawings/wiring diagrams for payload rack support

systems.

. Worked as a member of a tiger team (problem resolving team) to

improve drawing output and quality: saved over $80000 in first two

fiscal quarters of implementation. Team awarded with a four-day

celebration at company retreat (2003).

. Selected by management as resident audio expert to support a

communications proposal to NASA.

SSPCM (Solid State Power Control Module)

. Performed troubleshooting, functional testing, and circuit analysis

of analog/digital electronics.

AIRLOCK (Space Station to Space Shuttle Interface Element)

. Selected by management to provided engineering support for last

minute preparations of the airlock for launch.

EDUCATION
