for generating nanometal clusters in Metal

Organic Frameworks (MOF) pores for use as catalyst and

enhance gas storage capabilities

. Identified new ligands for building porous

crystalline MOFs for use as catalysts, gas storage etc.

. Played the lead role in a Department of Defense

funded project for utilizing MOFs as air purifying

sorbents for protection against Chemical Warfare

Agents (CWAs), Toxic Industrial Chemicals

(TICs) etc.

. Identified suitable chemical simulants for CWAs and

TICs for initial testing.

. Designed breakthrough experiments of MOFs sorption

capacity for CWAs and TICs

. Gained working knowledge of single crystal and powder

diffraction, gas adsorption measurements

against murine and human leukemia, lymphoma growth and

reversible cage slippage of the

tricarbadecaborane ligand

. Showed that the organic moieties on the side chain of

the cage ligands newly designed were

sensitive compounds by means of

Schlenk-line, high-vacuum line and dry-box techniques

. Working knowledge of chemical analysis

using multi-nuclear NMR, GC/MS, ES/MS, IR (DRIFT),
