Designed and developed thin film integrated EMI filters, ESD protection &

Integrated Passive devices for handheld devices. Carried out accelerated

lifetesting and predicted field life using Weibull statistical techniques.

Procured, implemented, utilized and maintained simulation & modeling

software/hardware. Formed strategic alliances with foundries to develop new

BiCMOS fabrication process.

Key Accomplishments:

. Identified flip chip & PCB failure mechanisms using HALT, SEM & cross

sectioning.

. Designed into the Blackberry, a new EMI filter with integrated TVS

device.

. Developed a low cost wafer level Chip Scale packaging and PCB assembly

technique.

. Published a joint paper with JPL and presented it at an international

conference.

Designed, developed and transferred to manufacturing high yielding power

MOSFETs for portable electronics applications. Made extensive use of

Modeled, designed, developed and transferred to manufacturing GaInAsP/InP

semiconductor lasers, detectors and edge-emitting LEDs for 1300 nm and 1550

nm optical fiber communication systems. Defined and performed accelerated

validation and lifetesting studies. Predicted product life & reliability

in FITs using Weibull and other log-normal statistical methods.

Key Accomplishment:

. Improved edge emitting LED lifetime by 40% as a result of statistical

data analysis and device modeling.

. Discovered failure mechanisms in GaInAsP/InP ELEDs using cross

sectioning, staining, SEM, TEM, PL and EL.
