PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

BMW Manufacturing, Greer, SC 1994-2010

Assembly Quality Supervisor (2001-2010)

Managed the Rejected Material Evaluation area in Assembly, supervising up

to 50 permanent and temporary associates, with additional responsibilities

in the Rework Parts Cage and Engine Service Center. Managed the physical

parts flow and inventory accuracy in seven SAP storage locations. Led the

disposition of all scrap and rejected material including supplier returns

for the Z3, Z4, X5, X6, and X3 models. Developed and managed budgets and

forecasts of up to $2 million for scrap material.

. Delivered over $2.4 million in savings through 4 Lean Six Sigma (LSS)

and 3 Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) during 2009.

. Core member of the Opti-Team focused on product mutilation reduction

in Assembly which delivered head count reduction of 34 associates,

scrap cost reduction of $2.1 million, and a Rework Minute per vehicle

reduction of 59%

. Reduced headcount by 75% in evaluation area by creating and

implementing SAP batch processing for supplier returns.

. Improved inventory accuracy of warehouse evaluation area from 67% to

99% by implementing cycle counts, process controls, and corrective

action management.

. Lead team focused on reducing scrap on X5 and Z4 models that delivered

86% 1st year reduction in scrap.

. Initiated new resell agreements with suppliers returning damaged parts

to suppliers which recovered over $800,000 in 2008.

. Recovered rework costs for defective supplier material by creating and

implementing an SAP add-on automated cost recovery module.

. Organized and lead the Assembly Material Review Board (MRB),

responsible for the resolution of major defective part decisions.

Managed parts evaluation area, supplier problem containment and corrective

actions for suppliers of incoming sheet metal parts and welded assemblies.

Approved initial sample inspection reports (ISIR) and 8-D solutions at

suppliers.

. Reduced PPM target for Tier 1 supplier of Z3 model by 75% by

initiating and implementing a "CORE" team of integrated supplier and

BMW members as well as managing and driving the corrective action

system for quality problems.

. Implemented SAP system in body shop through a plant-wide project

(RESQ).

. Designed and implemented new Body Shop evaluation area utilizing VISIO

to improve parts flow and minimize space required.

Production Associate (1994-1996)

Worked in cavity wax area, mixed 2K paint, applied paint and cavity wax to

vehicles, wrote all initial process sheets, and trained new associates in

area.

. Designed Cavity Wax nozzle cleaning station.

Inspected incoming and outgoing product, reviewed material certifications
