PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Distribution Supervisor * Harley-Davidson Inc * Milwaukee, WI
October 2008-Present
Supervisory Experience
. Manage/direct a workgroup comprised of 15-20 hourly union employees.
Daily responsibilities include: Delegating work assignments, enforcing
disciplinary action, managing accurate time and attendance records,
ensuring productivity/quality standards, and maintaining a safe and
cohesive work environment.
Workforce Planning Experience
. Assist in the assessment of daily work volume. Through the use of
statistical analysis (produced by excel based worksheets), critical
adjustments are made daily to meet staffing needs, budgetary
constraints and/or throughput expectations.
o As a direct result of our planning efforts, our DC has been able
to reach and sustain levels of throughput that have exceeded
expectations throughout 09'.
Project Management Experience
. Since taking on this position, I have taken on two major projects
concerning our operations:
1. Project: Planning and executing the elimination of our 3rd shift
operations.
Timeframe: 1 month
Team members involved: 4
Summary: With the slow down of customer orders, our facility was
facing many inefficacies while running a three-shift operation. Our
plan combined all inbound and outbound operations into two shifts,
thus condensing our work and allowing us to identify accurate
staffing needs. Working with our logistics staff, union officials
and suppliers I was able to coordinate this transition without
causing hindrance to our internal and external commitments. Our
throughput has been increased by 15%, resulting in a very large
cost savings.
2. Project: Continuous quality improvement of our international
shipments:
Timeframe: Ongoing
Team members involved: 3
Summary: Our facility was receiving feedback that our European
shipments were not being received in accordance to its invoices. I
was charged with the responsibility of investigating the reported
issues. Since the initial feedback I have created a quality team
that consists of a logistics staff member from our freight
forwarding company, a manager from our distribution center in
Europe and myself. Every week we meet via teleconference to talk
about our previous weeks shipments and address any pending issues.
The open line of communication has allowed me to identify areas
where our shipment processes are at fault in addition identifying
issues being caused by our third party carriers. Our European
shipments have seen gradual improvements since the implementation
of this team.

. Dedicated member of a five-person team that proactively seeks and
resolves safety items that have yet to become front line issues. Our

o Our efforts have contributed to the FDC 's recognition as being
the safest facility within Harley-Davidson in terms of reported
incidents.
