Invensys Controls, Carol Stream, IL
A leading manufacturer of controls used in Appliance, HVAC, Commercial
Refrigeration and Safety Detection sold to the OEM and aftermarket channels
with sales in excess of $1.3 billion.
Vice President of Finance - North America
2004 to 2009
Financial partner for three business segment VP General Managers and
reported directly to the CFO of Invensys Controls. Led the financial
functions for all of North America.
. Drove the integration of the financial activities for the North American
businesses of Invensys Climate and Appliance Controls as the result of
the consolidation of the two business groups. This included centralizing
the North American accounting headquarters which improved productivity
and reduced cost by $730k annually.
. Restructured the accounting organization aligning it along business
segments to provide greater visibility of financial results to business
management.
. Directed the transfer of transactional accounting activities to a third
party provider in India; reduced cost of finance overhead from 2.5% to
1.9% of revenue.
. Project leader on the divestitures of non-core businesses which generated
disposal proceeds in excess of 10 times EBITDA.
. Developed the financial justifications for the consolidation and closure
of North American facilities, which resulted in a permanent reduction in
operating costs in excess of $2 million per month.
. Standardized worldwide accounting policies for Invensys Controls
including Transfer Pricing and Inventory Valuation. Directed the North
American conversion to International Financial Accounting Standards
(IFRS).
. Developed and managed an accounting team of 80 finance professionals

Reported to the Business Group's Global President and functionally reported
to the CFO of Invensys plc. Responsible for financial reporting of the
division throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
. Developed, with the Business President, the strategic direction of the
division which included internal growth, acquisitions and divestitures.
. Served as a board member setting direction for several business units in
Japan and China.
. Drove the business proposals and activities to relocate manufacturing
operations from the U.S. and Japan to Mexico and China which

. Managed the integration of Colman Motor Products' administrative and
engineering activities and systems into those of Merkle-Korff while
reducing cost by 3% of Revenue.

opportunities with Jordan Industries.

A manufacturer of sub-fractional horsepower motors and gear motors for a

financial functions. This included monthly reporting and commentary
packages to the parent corporation.
. Instrumental in the turn around of the company from an EBIT loss to a
