Project: Mainframe Analyst in Enhancement and Maintenance of Coverage
Validation system and Image Validation system at Los Angeles.
. Technology involved: MVS, JCL, COBOL, CICS, IMS DB, VSAM, DB2, MQ
Series and Blaze Advisor 6.0.
. The COVERAGE VALIDATION SYSTEM comprises of an exhaustive list of
Table driven rules, Sapiens rules and Cobol programs to validate the
eligibility of the coverages to be offered to the insured for Motor
Vehicles.
. I was involved in providing Technical and Business support to the
Business Owners during the Business Requirement phase to create
Business Requirement documents.
. I was involved in providing Technical requirements for the projects
during the Design phase by analyzing the list of all sapiens rules,
Cobol programs and DB2 tables under impact.
. I was also involved in the support for Development and Testing,
review of Test Plan,
Test Results Validation and Project Implementation support for various
projects.
. In the IMAGE VALIDATION SYSTEM, a set of Business rules runs in the
Blaze Advisor Rule Engine to validate and create triggers if the
coverage plan selected is not eligible for the insured. This is to
ensure that the coverage plan selected is in accordance with the State
Law. I was involved in gathering of the Business requirements,
Designing Business rules using Blaze Advisor rule engine, Development
of the rules in the Blaze environment, Testing the rules with
Mainframes as the Interface and Project Implementation.
Client: AT&T, OHIO - June 2007 to September 2007.
Project: Mainframe Analyst in Enhancement & Maintenance of Error Management
System in Ohio with Infosys.
. Technology involved: MVS, JCL, COBOL, COLD FUSION, JAVA SCRIPT, SQL,ORACLE and DB2
. In Error Management System (EMS) under AT&T, the telephone usages
errored out from the Billing systems are corrected and send back to
the upstream applications for billing. Over $24,000,000 is recovered
annually by the EMS applications through the process of error
correction.
. I was involved in Development and Enhancement of JCLs and Cobol batch
programs which collect the error records from various input sources
and reformat them into a standard AMA, EMI and EMS format and prepare
them for transfer to UNIX
. The tasks also involved running of Unix shell scripts to receive
error files (via FTP) from mainframe machine and store them in the EMS
Oracle database in a manner suitable for efficient access by online
investigators for error correction.
. The tasks include maintenance of user friendly Online User Interface
using Cold Fusion and Java Script which access the Oracle database for
errored out usages.
. I was involved in the Design, Development and Testing of the SCORE
CARD METRICS project to derive a monthly summary of volume of usages
corrected by the EMS system and the revenue associated with it. This
project replaced the manual data collection and spreadsheet
preparation currently performed by managers and associates
. I was involved in the Onsite-Offshore coordination and Production
Support to fix the issues in the Mainframes and Unix production
environment. The task also included ONLINE SYSTEM MONITORING AND
SUPPORT by running daily jobs to record the system down time and
system availability.
. I was involved in the SYSTEM TEST ENVIRONMENT SETUP/UPDATE with 24x7
support to facilitate smooth operation of the System Testing.
Client: AT&T, San Ramon, CA- April 2007 to June 2007
Project: Mainframe Analyst in Enhancement & Maintenance of Usage Billing
Application at SanRamon, CA with Infosys Technologies Ltd, India
. Technical Areas: MVS, JCL, CICS, COBOL, VSAM and DB2
. The USAGE BILLING application involved rating of the daily usages
recorded in AMA and EMI in the telephone switches and sending them to
downstream applications for bill calculation and invoicing.
. The tasks involved interaction with the Client to gather requirements,
Onsite-Offshore Coordination, providing Detailed Design document,
Development, Review and Testing.
. I was also involved in 24*7 Production Support and System Testing
support
. In AT&T, the Operator handled usages were not billed at all. A
project OS BILL GEN was performed to incorporate the rating of these
usages by changes in existing Cobol programs and Production Jobs.

Software Tester and Team Lead for a Web Based Quality Control project at
Infosys Technologies Ltd, India
. Technology involved : UNIX, QTP
. The project involved Quality Control of the PEOPLE SOFT web based
application tool which creates orders for the customers who choose
AT&T for their Internet services.
. I was involved in the formulation of Test strategies and Test plan
preparation for order management.
. I was involved in the REGRESSION AND SYSTEM TESTING of the orders in
the Online application and in Batch mode using Unix.
. I was involved in PRODUCTION IMPLEMENTATION VALIDATION where testing
is directly performed on the production region once the project is
implemented in production.
. As a Team Lead, I was involved in Onsite-Offshore coordination,
Testing requirements gathering, Task allocation with in the team,
Coordination with the team, Requirement Clarification to the team,
Status Collection and Reporting .
. The tasks also involved analysis of Defects, opening defects for any
deviation from Business during testing and tracking the defects to
closure.
. Also Test scripts were automated using QTP to avoid manual
intervention.
. SQA AUDITS were performed on a monthly basis to ensure that the
Quality Standards are met.

Mainframe Developer and Team Lead in Enhancement & Maintenance of Billing
Application at Infosys Technologies Ltd, India

. Technology involved: MVS, JCL, PL/1, CICS, Assembler Programming ASM,
MQ Series, IMS DB/DC and DB2.
. The project was dealt with Customer Account Information, Billing
Inquiry, and Collections & Adjustments of Bills for data, voice and
internet services. The tasks involved Development and Maintenance of
Online application using IMS DC.
. I was also involved in Development, Testing and Implementation of the
batch programs for changes in the Billing Application.
. A project Enterprise Billing Format (EBF) was executed to introduce a
standard format for the AT&T bills across all regions in United
States. As a part of Billing Inquiry system I was involved in the
creation of new online screens, transactions and programs for the
display of the new bills to the end users.
. PL/1 COMPILER CONVERSION project was performed to upgrade the version
of the PL/1 compiler. The task involved recompilation of all the
modules with the new complier version and testing of the entire system
from top to bottom.
. As a Team Lead I was involved in Module and Resource management,
analysis of Requirement, finalizing Technical requirement, Reviews,
Testing and Status Reporting.
Client: Equant, Paris September 2001 - June 2005.
Mainframe Developer for Enhancement & Maintenance of Order Management &
Billing Application at Infosys Technologies Ltd, India
. Technology Involved : MVS, JCL, COBOL, CICS, PL/1, SAPIENS, SAPIENS
DBA activities, VSAM and DB2
. This project looked at MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT of the Order
Management and Billing Application for data, voice and internet
services.
. ONLINE SCREENS DEVELOPMENT involved development of screens and
addition of business logic using SAPIENS Rapid Application
Development tool for the new product IPVPN introduced into the market.
. Creation of batch jobs and PL/1 programs to incorporate billing and
invoicing of the IPVPN Service.
. SAPIENS DBA ACTIVITIES involved creation of tables and other data
objects and restricting access to the users based on security levels.
. MASS LOADS of data to the Customer Account Management database on a
monthly basis. Activities involved creation of MACROS in MS EXCEL to
make the data compatible with the tables and to import the excel into
the DB2 tables.
