LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Gentlemen,
I would like to offer my recommendation of Ron Johnston.
I have known Ron for the last 2 years and have worked closely with him
during this time. During this time Ron has worked as a Designer/Drafter
developing electrical schematics, cable routing, electrical raceway design,
field support and many other related functions. I am a Principle
Electrical Engineer at Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation with one of
my responsibilities being review and approval of many electrical documents,
including those mention above. I can therefore attest firsthand to the
superb workmanship of Ron.
Ron is a conscientious honest worker who gets the job done both quickly and
accurately. He is well respected among his peers and his advice is readily
accepted and sought after. Ron is an independent thinker who comes up with
excellent ideas to improve workflow and product quality. He is the
"designer of choice" among many of the engineers within the group. Ron is
very knowledgeable of the various codes that are used in this line of work,
especially the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). Ron has an outgoing
personality and is capable of getting along with even the most difficult
persons. He is a team player and team leader. With his vast experience
within the electrical industry Ron has proven himself to be a valuable
asset to Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation and I believe this will be
true for any company that he works for.
I offer my recommendation of Ron without hesitation and would be happy to
talk further with you about Ron. Please feel free to contact me as you
feel necessary.

Gentleman,
Please consider the following in your decision for the job Ron Johnston has
applied for in your group.
Ron Johnston has been working in my Electrical Engineering group as a
electrical designer for approximately 2 years. During this time his duties
included design of electrical schematics, cable and conduit routing, and
drafting of single lines and equipment layouts for gas turbine power
plants.
Creation of schematics includes interpreting engineering comments,
acquiring, reviewing, and interpretation of internal and external equipment
drawings and documentation. This is a critical task to ensure correct wire
terminations to all plant equipment. The schematics also included the DCS
loop diagrams for the plant.
Cable and Conduit routing design includes acquiring, reviewing, and
interpretation of internal and external equipment drawings and
documentation for physical design. Above grade drawings are composed of
plan, elevation, and section views of power plant equipment and the conduit
design. Cable and Conduit design use the above grade drawings as a guide
to provide conduit routes from below grade conduits to instruments and
junction boxes. Cable routes, conduit fill, and signal separation are all
criteria used in the designs.
Ron joined us at a time when we had a high volume of work with tight
schedules. He quickly got up to speed on our CADD systems and engineering
processes. His attention to detail, knowledge and approachable manor made
him the designer of choice for many of the engineers. Ron demonstrated his
skill set and background, by quickly and correctly addressing field
questions and problems during construction and commissioning of several
power plants.
Ron has been a valuable contributor to my engineering group. I highly
recommend him for future positions in this area.
Regards,
Jim
