business) for the FRU Transmittal flow processes which assist with
field reutilization units available for existing and new products
at shipment support.
. Created project plan to determine time frame, procedures for
accomplishing project, and budget. Lead in defining the FRU
Transmittal Automation program objectives based on the feedback

Title: Technical Data Management Project Lead
Accomplishments:
Launching and Managing IBM Europeon B2B (E-commerce) Sites
Led in deploying and managing public Internet dynamic pages and
new site releases for European markets. Co-ordinated pre-production
& production launch related website activities with DBA's, business
content members, developers, and testing teams.
Managed large and complex data feeds, conducted test and
verification procedures via shell scripting for tracking potential
data defects, produced reports and conducted briefings for
worldwide IBM launch groups. This involved : 1) technical
evaluation of existing and new database schema, 2) detailing
automatic processes needed to incorporate new data specifications;
3) making proposals for improvements, with justification, to
existing macros and data sets; and 4) providing technical
expectations that other teams were held accountable for processes
to be in-sync and meeting deliverable deadlines.
. Involved in training and providing documentation to Maintenance
groups on the revised applications during the Post-Launch phase.
. Received recognition by IBM management of successful launches
every quarter (see also Honors and Awards section on additional
recognitions by client).
Environment: UNIX, DB2 (SQL), and HTML
Automation of Data Processes
Accomplishments:
Deployed a process that automatically updated family attributes
for any new series of a given IBM brand in its respective database
table which generated a revised brand-series specification chart on
the New Series Specs Web page.
Conducted detailed comparison and problem identification of data
files of an ADP program where contents of existing release datafeed
files were compared line-by-line with new release datafeed files.
Differences between these two sets were used for purposes of
verification and detection of any data discrepancies for
rectification.
Maintained a minor ADP application for server-to-server database
maintenance whereby files and directories were automatically
compressed and transferred on one server to another via FTP
incorporated in the program.
Environment: SQL, HTML,UNIX Shell Script Programming
Inventory Data Management
Accomplishments:
. Managed an inventory tracking system for IBM public sites. The
system kept track of the availability of products on-site, their
sales/purchases, inventory of items etc.
Contributed in enabling the system to provide user-friendly Web
sites to customers letting them know if any particular product is
in stock or, if not, the next available date.
Environment: DB2 (SQL) and HTML Programming
Discounted Price DataFeed (ECIM) for Business-to-Business Customers
Accomplishments:
Led in deploying and managing a database system that kept track
of the discounted prices for IBM Affinity intranet customers.
Assisted developers in developing discounted price datafeed
programs that allowed the system to take existing prices for the
products on the Web and calculate a discounted price based on the
discount percentage decided for that particular private dealer
group. If the discount is not available for some products, it takes
the listed price as-is and posts it as the final price on the site.
Environment: DB2 (SQL Programming)
Shopfast Blockage of Business-to-Customer Products
Accomplishments:
Led in blocking certain products from being sold on the site as
decided by IBM.
Keeping track of a security application which entailed deletion
of brand-to-product relationships in related database tables,
making dynamic product page macros as null so that the general
public did not have access through their book marked URL to those
products, and un-published pertinent products for a set time frame
so that they cannot be seen or purchased from the related sites.
Environment: Database (SQL) Programming incorporated in UNIX Shell
Scripts
