EXPERIENCE:

Exelon Energy Corp, Kennett Square Pa (Technical Consultant)

5/2009 to 05/2010

Designed and developed Pro*C programs in the Unix/Solaris environment on

SUN computers to collect data from an MQ interface connected to a legacy

IBM mainframe. The purpose was to create a data warehouse on the local Unix

boxes and extract, transform and load (ETL) the data onto an Oracle

database using the Oracle data loader. The system required 24/7

availability and needed to be optimized for online reports/queries, all

reports were in conjunction to the support the Exelon Business decision

group. Cognos Impromptu was used for reporting. All programming was in

Pro*C and the database was ORACLE 9i. Various PL/SQL skills were used to

insure data accuracy.

Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia Pa. (Technical Consultant)

06/2007 to 05/2009

Migrated clinical production data from Enscribe database to HP Nonstop

SQL/MP database using GoldeGate DataLoad facilities. Assisted with the SQL

database optimization.

Wachovia Bank, Philadelphia, Pa. (Technical Consultant)

02/2004 to 06/2007

Provided design, development, and programming support for the International

Funds Transfer product (IFT) in conjunction with the payments systems of

Wachovia Bank. The IFT application sends and receives transactions to

various financial networks including SWIFT. The formatted messages were

queued up in a single file for transmissions. Provided additional technical

support, enhancements and changes to the legacy CHIPS and FED interfaces.

Wrote several utilities TAL, C, and COBOL for improved management of the

payment queuing data. Wrote functional and detail design specifications

for interfacing to MQ libraries and various testing programs. Began

migration project of moving the IFT application off the Tandem onto a UNIX

platform utilizing the MQ series tools.

Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia Pa. (Technical Consultant)

03/2003 to 10/2003

Converted clinical data from Tandem K series machine to a Tandem S series

machine. Utilized the data replication tool called GoldenGate

Extractor/Replicator to seamlessly migrate and upgrade hospital application

data from one legacy machine to a more modern S version.

Exelon Energy Corp, Kennett Square Pa (Technical Consultant)

10/2000 to 01/2003

Migrated Tandem based application to Solaris machine. Designed and

developed Pro*C programs in the Unix/Solaris environment on the SUN

computers to collect data from legacy IBM mainframe using standard FTP

interface. Every 15 minutes all production data from Exelon's fleet of

nuclear power plants was available for online data collection. Once the

data was retrieved, the programs inserted the transactions into an SQL

database on the TANDEM and simultaneously into an ORACLE 8i database on the

Sun Solaris box. Migrated TANDEM SQL applications onto Solaris computer.

Converted Tandem 'C' programs in the Guardian environment to 'Pro*C'

programs in the UNIX environment. Data was used to support new warehouse in

local Unix environment.

Concord EFS, Wilmington, DE. (Technical Consultant)

01/1998 to 09/2000

Responsible for the design, development, programming and testing of several

custom EFT applications in an OLTP environment. Duties included providing

leadership, guidance and direction for junior developers and QA testers.

Projects involved coding a number of specific enhancements to the Automated

Teller Machines (ATM) network. These enhancements were on the Tandem

Computer. Familiarity with various Financial networks ISO8583 message

formats, and communication protocols. Wrote the interfaces to the NYCE,

PLUS, and CIRRUS networks. ORACLE 8I was the final destination data

repository. An expert in many aspects of the ATM business. The CONNEX

software package was the original architecture.

First Union Bank, Philadelphia, PA. (Technical Consultant)

07/1996 to 01/1998

Provided design, development, and Project Management support to the

International Wire Transfer (IFT) application running in an OLTP

environment on the Tandem Computer system. Wrote enhancements to the

online real-time interface to the SWIFT network where large dollar

transactions routinely went through the application and traveled around the

world in seconds. In this application, data integrity was the most critical

component. COBOL screen requesters and servers written in TAL and COBOL85

were used extensively. Project management responsibilities included.

Electronic Payment Services, Wilmington, DE. (Technical Consultant)

06/1995 to 06/1996

Provided design and development support for the OLTP environment of an ATM

switch on Tandem under construction from the remains of the CoreStates MAC

network software. Wrote several interfaces to large external gateways in

TAL and C. Mentored junior programmers.

CoreStates Bank, Philadelphia, PA. (Technical Consultant)

12/1993 to 06/1995

Wrote Tandem programs in C, TAL, and COBOL85 to support International Wire

Transfer (IFT) application, which involved upgrading the voice response

unit (VRU) for order entry. Since these were large corporate customers

entering secure private data, various encryption techniques were used which

allowed the customer to identify himself/herself to the Tandem without

any human intervention

Chemical Bank, New York, NY. (Technical Consultant)

02/1993 to 01/1994

Worked with the client in developing a custom, Tandem based, wire transfer

application, which accessed a Nonstop SQL database via COBOL85 servers in a

standard Pathway environment. Heavy programming with TAL and COBOL85.

Provided various technical support to Chemical Banks staff and assisted

junior programmers. Wrote detail design documents and coded several servers

and Pathway Screen Cobol requesters.

CoreStates Bank, Philadelphia, PA. (Technical Consultant)

01/1989 to 01/1993

Provided guidance on the initial designs of the new CoreStates Switch to

upgrade the MAC network, which was running the CONNEX switch software

package on Tandem at the time. Employed a standard application design

methodology, which included requirements definition, design, code, testing,

review and quality assurance. Wrote high-level functional documentation

and detailed design specifications prior to any coding. All areas of the

ATM business were reviewed and recommendations were made. Tal and C were

used. Analyzed business requirements.

Mtech, Dallas, TX. (Technical Consultant)

03/1985 to 12/1988

Worked with MTECH and MTECH customers on Tandem based ATM switching

application, which utilized Pathway and Nonstop TAL, processes. This work

involved supporting several of MTECH customers who converted their ATM

networks to a Tandem based solution. Also assisted with porting the multi-

threaded ATM application over from the IBM mainframe to the Tandem and onto
