Linehaul Coordinator
1/1998 - 3/2002 Watkins Motor Lines, Lakeland,
Florida
This position is responsible for the supervision of
all
linehaul (long distance trucking) operations for 12
breakbulk terminals and 135 end of line terminals.
Scheduling, planning, and logistics management are
an
important part of this position. Overseeing 1900
company
and contract drivers and providing directives and
assistance throughout the course of their
dispatches.
The linehaul coordinator is also responsible for
troubleshooting safety and DOT irregularities and
incidents. Another important role is the scheduling
of
all LTL (less than truckload) freight to
destinations
within the United States and Canada, Mexico and
Puerto
Rico.This freight movement is primarily done by
means of
company trucking, but subhauler, and rail are
secondary
methods. Air transport is also used as an expedite
alternative for LTL customers. It is the linehaul
coordinator's responsibility to track and report on
all
of these freight movements.
Route Manager
12/1996 - 1/1998 Loomis Fargo & Company, Tampa
Florida,
The Route Manager responsibilities were to directly
manage and evaluate 90 drivers, four dispatchers,
and
four operations supervisors. Scheduling 52 routes
throughout Western Florida. Fleet management of 58
vehicles which included scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance, registrations, and permits. Other
duties
included driver recruitment, weapons training, and
the
security of over $40,000,000 dollars of stored
liabilities.

The Ground Operations Trainer's primary duties were
to
train new personnel on all duties pertaining to

job. The duties included security, monorail and
