Professional History
Spirent Communications, Eatontown, New Jersey 2000-Present
Senior Applications and Product Specialist
Functioned as member of Performance Analysis division tasked with designing
and developing telecommunications test solutions to improve customer
businesses by enabling fine-tuned and superior device performance,
accelerated product launch, and smooth standards certification process in
such bodies as 3GPP/3GPP2/PTCRB/GCF/CCF/CTIA. Played critical role in
creation of Over-the-Air Location Test System (LTS-OTA), which
characterizes effect of antenna design on GPS and Assisted-GPS performance
of receiver based on 3-D pattern measurement, sensitivity search,
desensitization, and TIS calculation. Coordinated and managed customer
installations, customer demos, and OTA test platform approval in CTIA.
Oversaw requirements gathering and roadmap development for future versions
of OTA Test Solutions. Participated in business case development for OTA
Test Solutions evolution. Participated in collaboration with 2 key industry
players in OTA test market.
Conducted global customer visits to drive engagements. Delivered speeches
at international seminars sponsored by customers and distributors. Provided
high-level customer support, handling technical issues beyond scope of tier
1 customer support. Trained sales and customer support staff. Supported
sales calls by articulating technical capabilities. Liaised with production
and customer service departments, serving as internal point of contact for
product-specific concerns.
Teamed with 3rd-party validation house to ensure official and accurate
validation of Spirent's conformance test systems. Ensured RF integrity of
systems. Completed uncertainty calculations and optimizations as needed to
meet 3GPP uncertainty specifications as well as confidence-level
calculations to ensure achievement of minimum requirements for statistical
significance of test results. Drove implementation of 3GPP 34.121 test
cases, maintaining conformance to current 3GPP standards. Monitored RAN5
efforts and orchestrated change request (CR) reviews during meeting
periods; supported representative by analyzing and responding to CRs.
Created software components for proprietary Cable Modem and Cable Modem
Termination System using MS Visual Basic. Developed Component Object Model
(COM) interface for TCL scripting and other development environments using
Visual Basic. Contributed to design and development of hardware component
for Cable Modem Test Instrument. Followed engineering design and
development guidelines to identify desired electronics components;
developed RF-optimized PCB board layout and RF matching circuitry using
Smith Chart. Generated custom test and calibration software for UMTS WCDMA
Base Station Emulator.
o Orchestrated demonstration to potential customers faster than tier 1
competitors and improved company visibility by recommending and gaining
support for release of solution in phases rather than waiting for
official test plan to complete.
o Traveled to Asia in 2009 to participate in seminar with 300+ technology
representatives concerning specific OTA testing methods; introduced
platform and articulated roadmap to earn customer trust, contributing to
successful close of business and sale of multimillion-dollar product to
Asia.
o Played key role in producing nearly $4M in 2008 and 2009 revenue,
accounting for 25% of sales forecast for single product line through
selling 1st solution to extremely popular computer and mobile device
developer prior to product launch in 2008.

Senior Applications and Product Specialist, continued...
o Established common software with minimal redundancy and saved 30% in man-
months of development through forming cross-continental software
development team, including personnel from 2 distinct product lines, to
create 1 software package that could be used by 2 product lines due to
similar requirements.
o Coordinated release of UMTS Location Test System (ULTS), which performs
automated conformance and performance tests based on 3GPP standards, such
as 34.171 and 51.010 for GPS-enabled devices, along with User Plane
standards based on OMA SUPL.
o Customized highly sophisticated protocol control software module for
operation on single PowerPC rather than pair of PowerPC processors
running VxWorks for WCDMA UMTS Base Station Emulator.
o Created and controlled firmware for operation on Interference Generator,
which has applications in Wireless Communications Testing field and
enables UMTS and CDMA2000 receiver tests by producing precise carrier-to-
interferer ratios with Continuous Wave, Noise, WCDMA, CDMA2000, and GSM
type interferers.
o Integrated RF front-end module for up-down conversion process for Channel
Fader and Emulator; instrument has applications in Communications Testing
field, empowering user to emulate fading and noisy channel conditions.
o Designed and implemented transport layer for protocol control and data
messaging between DSP and PowerPC board across PCI interface for UMTS
WCDMA Base Station Emulator.
Biomedical Ultrasound and Biomedical Optics Laboratory-Drexel University,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 1999-2000
Software Engineer
Created software drivers and application programs for computer control and
data acquisition for use in control of measurement instruments. Developed
software routines to assess and appropriately manage measurement data with
MS Access and Excel using object access technology and MS VBA.
o Designed CGI programs to enable interfacing between remote computers with
local measurement instruments via web.
o Generated and maintained extensive user database for application, along
with SQL queries.
RDL, Inc., Conshohocken, Pennsylvania 1998-1999
Software/Hardware Engineer
Produced software proprietary measurement instruments using C programming
language. Designed, simulated, and instituted RF filters across multiple
frequency ranges. Employed Smith Chart to develop RF matching circuitry.
Utilized microwave simulation software and
RF Network Analyzer. Conducted RF power budget and DC Stress calculations
on various circuitry according to engineering and
production specifications.
o Executed debugging efforts and enhanced software programs used in
instrument performance testing, in addition to upgrading GUI-based
software for testing purposes.
EMC Technology, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 1997-1998
Software/Hardware Engineer
Created software drivers for computer-controlled testing and data
management. Compared S-Parameter measurements and calculations utilizing RF
Network Analyzer and Smith Chart.
o Designed thin-film Temperature Variable Attenuators in various values for
NASA SBIR project; employed UNIX-based electromagnetic field simulation
software and principles of RF matching and attenuation.
