business and mission critical applications with 24x7 high availability
and recovery from system failures, running on both: HP-UX and Linux.
. Managed geographically diverse team of 7-10 development/test engineers
and managers to implement Serviceguard Projects utilizing Agile
methodology to track progress of the projects. Involved in
investigation, scoping, design, implementation, documentation and
overseeing successful completion through the release. Provided project
tracking, risk/budget analysis, sizing and estimation of task lists
for team members, resource allocation and responsible for managing the
closeout and retrospective meetings.
. Hands-on experience in designing and developing the projects utilizing
C and Java on Unix and Linux platforms. Developed the test case
documentation and implemented the test case scenarios using Object-
oriented Perl. The projects were implemented using Agile methodology
where each task of the project was developed as a "card deck". Heavily
involved in scrum and brainstorming sessions, coding and testing of
the "card deck", and tracking the velocity trend of the project.
. Analyzed Customer Requirements and acted as a Facilitator between high-
end stake holders: Project Managers, Technical Teams, Customer
Relations, Client Representatives and Support Engineers to ensure the
accurate translation of business requirements to engineering
requirements. Designed and delivered MS Powerpoint presentation to
Partners, Field Review and Support teams in a true global environment
spanning business consultants all over the world. Designed and
delivered training material used by Marketing teams to understand and
promote the projects. Main Projects included:
o The Application Maintenance Project: Reduced the maintenance
outage time of a high availability Serviceguard cluster by 95%
thus helping the customers upgrade their critical applications
while it was online.
o The Modular Package Project: Allowed configuration of
applications on multiple systems at the same time thereby
reducing the engineering time by 50%.
o The Cross-Subnet Project: Allowed a highly available application
to be associated with more than one subnet configured on
different nodes of the cluster. This ensured that 100% high
availability of an application due to a failure of a subnet.
o The Powerfail Testing Tool Project: Diagnosed and resolved
seamless transfer of a cluster package from one node to another
due to power failure of network hub or node. The tool required
test automation to detect the type of HP Enterprise servers (HP
9000 series, Proliant, Blade Servers, N-Class and Integrity) and
perform powerfail tests accordingly.
o HP Infrastructure and SDLC training Process: Implemented a
training infrastructure for new hires and interns to integrate
