Employer Summary
TAMCO Steel (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) Production Engineer, 7/06 to present
Retained to lead site production engineering. Then shifted efforts to major infrastructure improvements throughout the facilities
melting and rolling shops as part of a $135M+ plant wide expansion project.
Zippertubing (Los Angeles, CA) Engineer, 6/05 to 7/06
Provided product design, material testing, System Energy Analysis, and data interpretation. Managed production line tooling
changes. Consistently exceeded goals and expectations for DOD and aerospace clients.
Diamond Specialty (Corona, CA) Operations Manager, 1/99 to 5/07
Provided site supervision and field engineering on a diverse range of commercial construction projects (full time until 6/05 part time
consulting until 5/07).
Improvement Project Highlights
Billet Re Heat Furnace & Caster Cooling bed Project Budget: $42M
Facilitated the business justification, project plan, budget, contract management, site design, energy analysis, team selection,
permitting, contractor selection, construction, and installation. Project included; multiple buildings, CEMS environmental equipment,
structural steel erection, bridge and jib cranes, as well as dealing with all levels of government agencies on regulatory issues.
Water System Projects Budgets: $5k to $20M
Served as site manager and field engineer on dozens of potable and process water projects that included storm water pollution
remediation, above and below ground fire protection systems; including hydrants, back flow preventers, risers and sprinkler
systems; deep well drilling and pumping installation projects; closed and open system cooling towers and heat exchangers; as well
as the design of large scale water filtration systems and filter presses.
Rebar Bundling Equipment Redesign Project Budget: $1M
Led all phases of a complex custom equipment improvement project that involved heavy steel construction; medium voltage VFD
installation, power feeds and automation; as well as hydraulic power units and hydraulically driven components. This project
increased bundle output rate by 20 sec and improved bundle quality for our customers aiding and improving sales.
Billet Transfer Table Project Budget: $1M
Managed all aspects of design and site layout for table and conveyor system capable of moving 2 ton billets from furnace to mill
entry. Developed equipment purchase specifications as well as civil, mechanical, and electrical construction service specifications.
Project Highlights Continued
Process Equipment Purchase and Installation Budgets: $75k to $1M
Served as Project manager and field engineer for the capital expenditure and installation of dozens of pieces of shop equipment;
such as:
CNC turning and notching roll lathe $1 M
High pressure roll and chock parts cleaning machine $85 K
Long reach Milling machine $350 K
Skid mounted hydraulic units $75 K
High volume roof mounted ventilation systems – $175 K
Dust collection systems $ 500 K
Industrial capacity Air compressor, Dryer, and collection tank system $650 K
Tensile test equipment $ 275 k
EAF Water Cooled Roof Panel Upgrade Project Budget: $125K
Completed conversion of standard steel pipe water cooled panels to aluminum bronze piping. This involved redesign of panel
layout as well as material change. This resulted in a furnace roof system that lasted almost three times longer than standard steel
panels, reducing maintenance cost.
Electrical Shielding & Fixture Projects Budgets: $50K
Developed EMI and thermal shielding products for DOD and commercial customer projects. Held customer design review meetings
with engineers across the country. Aided manufacturing department with construction and assembly of components. Developed
and executed material test procedure to meet customer requirements. Designed test fixtures for long duration environmental
exposure tests.
General Construction Projects Budgets: $5K to $1M
Completed diverse construction projects for major commercial clients such as shopping malls and movie theaters. Completed the
interior and exterior remodeling of various corporate offices from ruff ins to finish work. Ground up construction of CMU block
buildings and standard wood frame buildings
Sealed Roll Bearing and Chock Project Budget: $50K
Redesigned the grease delivery system and roll bearing style of entire long product roll line. This reduced grease usage by up to
80% and production related bearing loss by 5%. Resulting in improved production line up time and lower maintenance costs.
Preventive Maintenance Projects Budgets: $20K to $150K
Worked on a vibration analysis program that added accelerometers to mill line gear boxes detecting bearing vibration before failure
and found multiple pieces of rotating equipment that needed repair Using heat imaging cameras saving countless hours of
production down time.
Mill Guide Replacement Project Budget: $75K
Replaced expensive, complex and dangerous two piece cast iron mill guide and holder system with simple pipe style guide and
holder system that decreased mill set up time, reduced replacement wear part costs, and increased overall efficiency.
Chemical Degradation Project Budget: $75K
Tested resistance of various plastic products to chemical exposure in manufacturing process to prove they meet military
specifications. This testing determined areas of the manufacturing process that were causing quality problems; correction of which
improved output and yield.
March Air force Base Remodel Budget: $25K
Installed dual pane glass system, covered with 2 mil thermal and 14 mil security coatings to protect against blasts and reduce
thermal transmission into the building. Resulting in a safer more efficient building.
