Employment History:
03/2009 - 04/2010 Company: Technovative Applications
(Contracting for Abbigal)
3160-A Enterprise Street
Brea, CA 92821
Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Company's products: Radars.
Company's products: Radar tracking systems and precision guided munitions
for DoD
Generated housing for the Prototype and First Article for the
Receiver/Exciter Unit, which is subsystem for ammunition tracking system. A
few of the following components form a part of the overall assembly:
Chassis, Upper Cold Plate, Lower Cold Plate, LRU-Low Voltage Power Supply,
ten (10) different 3U-Cards, Backplane Board.
Using Cosmos Finite Element Analysis software ran structural, vibration and
thermal analysis for the REX Unit, and individual 3U-Cards. Generated a
complete mechanical bill of materials for the REX Unit including hardware.
07/2007 - 09/2008 Company: Esterline International
(Contracting for Aerotek)
1971 E. 4th St.
Santa Ana, CA 92705
Mechanical Engineer
Company's products: Power Distribution Boxes, Contactors, Relays.
Reviewed customer's SOW and through Finite Element Analysis (using ANSYS
software) conducted structural stress, modal simulation and vibration
analysis for existing line of Power Distribution Units (PDU's), used on
helicopters. After completing PDU's analysis and finding structural,
vibration and deflection deficiencies, suggested methods to improve Units
structural deficiencies, thus altering the chassis natural frequency and
removing it from customer's driven sine tones, allowing these units to pass
vibration levels mandates. This exercise was followed by a CDR, then wrote
a SOP that was forwarded to upper management and customer. After CDR
approval modified PDU's 3-D models and generated 2-D machined drawings.
Re-designed Fault Current Detector (FCD) used to protect technicians from
electrical shock. Generated product specification for FCD.
07/2006 - 4/2007 Company: ASC Process Systems
14062 Balboa Blvd
Sylmar, CA 91342
Senior Project Manager
Company's products: Autoclaves.
Reviewed contract specifications and statement of work (SOW), then
generated and continuously updated design documents and project schedule to
assure adherence to customer-and-company mandates. Once a delivery date was
established maintained constant and open communication with upper-
management, engineering staff, production floor and client either by email,
telephone or person-to-person. Participated in the system's Critical Design
Review (CDR) providing information pertaining to SOW's and project
schedule.
Helped identified Long Lead Items and worked with purchasing agent to
control delivery dates for these items. All these efforts were done to
have a successful on-time delivery.
04/2002 - 06/2006 Company: Rapiscan Systems Corp.
3232 W. El Segundo Blvd.
Hawthorne, CA 90250
Cargo Service Manager [06/2005 - 06/2006]
Company's products: X-Rays, Gamma-Rays, Metal Detectors Security Systems.
Manage a team of field engineers that train/service/maintain/repair Gamma
Rays Detection Systems and X-Rays Detection Systems in the Middle East,
Americas & Australia. Met with both domestic and international customers
(usually but not limited to Custom Agents, National Police) and introduced
them to Rapiscan's Systems and conducted training classes to operate said
systems.
Using Microsoft Visio diagram, organized, processed and effectively
communicated up to date schedules and cost to upper management. Work
closely with technical writer to create products manuals and class
presentations.
Senior Mechanical Engineer [04/2002 - 06/2005]
Member of an engineering team that developed the company's first Mobile
Gamma-Rays Detection System (GaRDS). First identified the vehicle that
would transport the system, then designed a mechanical system strong enough
to house and protect photo-sensors and other electronics modules from
outdoor elements, but light enough to be transported, deployed and stow via
hydraulics. Generated 3-D models, machined, cast drawings and a complete
BOM for the GaRDS. Generated Specifications and Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP) for the GaRDS.
Provided technical collaboration in developing advance Cargo X-Rays
Detection Systems. All Systems are used by domestic/international Customs
Agents/Police Officers to verify cargo manifest, these systems are also
capable of detecting weapons, drugs and/or explosives.
04/2000 - 2/2002 Company: PerkinElmer Inc.
(Contracting for Pro Source)
196 Bear Hill Rd
Waltham MA 02154
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Company's products: X-Rays Security Systems and Metal Detectors.
Successfully lead to the development and qualification of the first Mobile
X-Rays System. Design and generated top level assembly drawings, sub-
assemblies, machined and cast drawings, also created a complete set of Bill
of Materials for each sub-assembly or module for the system.
Generated Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures for the GaRDS.
