. Developed and published Sub-Zero's first Inbound Raw Materials Routing
Guide with over 90% compliance with our Suppliers within 2 months of
issue.
. Developed the 2008 Transportation Strategy to support the change in
the Manufacturing pattern which will shifted production between the
Madison Plants and the Phoenix, AZ Plant. This included inbound
materials to support production as well as outbound Customer Orders.

Ballard Medical - Salt Lake City, Utah
Served as the Distribution and Warehousing Team Leader at Ballard Medical
Products (1/01 - 1/02) with the primary responsibility of this position to
plan, direct and control all operations within both the Raw Materials and
Finished Goods Departments. This included supervision of 50 FTE's, 8
administrative and 42 operational personnel ensuring process consistency,
development and implementation improvements as required. Additional
responsibilities included ensuring order fulfillment goals were achieved in
a safe operating environment.
Directed all Transportation activities (inbound and outbound) to minimize
freight costs while meeting service levels targets for all customers. This
included distribution of product both domestic and international movements
via surface (LTL and TL), air and ocean freight. And carrier rate
negotiations and performance measurements. Including extensive knowledge
of DOT regulations and dock and port cut offs.
Facilitated all finished goods physical inventories and complete all
inventory reconciliation, financial management sign off and booking of
results, which comprised of 4,000 active SKU's.
Key Accomplishments:
. Implementation of a fully integrated, automated Warehouse Management
System (WMS), which allowed for increased space utilization, improved
productivity (labor and capacity planning) and inventory accuracy.
. Completion of warehouse redesign in both FG and RM warehouse to
accommodate better materials flow to meet production demand and proper
levels of inventory control.
Avent Inc. - Tucson, AZ
Performed as the Warehouse Team Leader for Avent Inc. Responsibilities
included coordination of all Logistics functions required in achieving all
customer (internal and external) service levels. This included supervision
of 25 FTE's within the Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving, Transportation and
Inventory Control functions. Additional responsibilities included the
generation and implementation of procedures, establishing work standards
and measuring conformance.
Key Accomplishments:
. Established a trailer cube utilization program on intermill movements
resulting in annualized freight savings in excess of $300.000.
. Managed the shutdown of finished goods distribution center in Tucson,
AZ with minimal customer service issues and developed process for
distribution of product direct from Mexico to third party DC's in the
United States.
. Development and implementation of carrier base change within Mexico
allow for optimization of the NAFTA Trucking Provisions. This allowed
for through movements reducing both freight expense and administrative
costs in both Logistics and Freight Payment.
Served as the Inventory Control Coordinator at Avent Inc. (4/98 - 1/01).
Managed the coordination of inventory activities in a domestic and
international environment in multiple warehouse locations in order to
ensure accurate records for finished goods, raw materials and finishing
supplies to allow logistics strategies and objectives to be achieved. This
included finished product valuation of $29MM and raw materials of $11MM.
Additional duties included the monitoring of production reporting,
materials handling procedures and inventory transactions to ensure high
levels of accuracy and data integrity.
Key Accomplishments:
. Inventory accuracy improvements for finished goods resulting in
reduction of absolute variance from $1,167,000 (1997) to $240,000
(1999).
. Filed and collected $188,000 freight overcharge claim.
Everett, WA
The Everett, WA Manufacturing facility was part of the Scott Paper
acquisition; I was on the Implementation Team, which was first sent out to
the Scott locations. The Everett Plant was a full line Pulp, Paper and
Distribution Center Operations.
As the Transportation Team Leader (4/96 - 4/98) at the K-C pulp mill, paper
mill and full line distribution center in Everett, WA my responsibilities
included management of all inbound/outbound shipments of raw materials and
finished product. Modes of transportation required to support the site
included rail, ocean, air and surface (LTL and truckload). This included
the identification and implementation of value enhancing changes that
improved total costs and customer service levels. This position was part
of the Scott Paper integration team, which included implementing internal
control procedures and start up of K-C's order processing system.
Knoxville, TN
Knoxville, TN is an Administrative site for Kimberly-Clark which includes
Corporate Transportation comprised of 900 FTE's with both Operation, Rates
and Systems (DRP) support being supplied to all Production Plants.
Served as a Senior Rate Analyst in the Corporate Transportation Department
(10/92 - 4/96) with responsibility to provide low cost transportation
consistent with customer service requirements. This was achieved through
cost analysis, carrier rate negotiations and utilization of transportation
software. Provided support and direction to assigned mills and
distribution centers. This position required a thorough knowledge of
transportation regulations and carrier pricing policies.
Tucson, AZ
Functioned as a Senior Production Planner (10/90 - 10/92) at Avent Inc. The
primary responsibility was planning of mill operating inventories of $5.5
MM, which included both raw materials and W.I.P product. Directly
responsible for the development, implementation and measurement of improved
production techniques and the execution of World Class Manufacturing
Techniques.
