Design, develop, manage automotive and diversified plastic components to

meet customer statement of work requirements such as appearance,

performance and safety demands. Products include grilles, outside mirror

systems, inside mirror systems, rear license plate housings, fog lamp

bezels, and ornamentation for Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi.

. Initiate feasible component and assembly designs for processes such as

injection molding, adhesive tape bonding, heat staking, snap fit design,

chrome plating and painting for manufacturing capability.

. Development of plastic molded components including back side detail,

associated tooling actions, function and material selection for improved

processing efficiency.

. Responsible for development and management of validation test plans

(DVPR) to insure customer conformance, reliability and safety

requirements exceed expectations.

. Conduct component design reviews with manufacturing facilities to review

bill of materials (BOM), failure mode effects analysis (DFMEA),

engineering changes, customer requirements and ways to improve processes

for cost reductions and efficiency.

. Develop GDT location schemes for gauging of components and sub-systems to

control location to the vehicle and be able to measure parts repeatedly

for better process capability and customer appearance requirements.

. Support customer launch for pilot builds to ensure effective and timely

problem resolution.

. Provide advance technical support to sales and program management to

determine engineering system performance requirements and incorporate

best practices to meet feasibility, cost, quality and durability to be

more competitive with customer quotes.

. Analyze warranty data to improve on future designs and incorporate into

best practices.

DESIGN ENGINEER

Design Engineer responsible for design, craftsmanship, cost savings,

release, testing validation, FMVSS 111 requirements, launch and follow up

warranty of exterior and interior mirror systems for all Ford Vehicles.

Also responsible for initiating Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis

(DFMEA), Design Verification Plan Report (DVPR), engineering changes

(Worldwide Engineering Release System, WERS) and warranty analysis for
