Projects:

Active Shunt Peaked Amplifier:

. Studied the electrical characteristics of a circuit that emulated the

performance of an inductor.

. The aim of this project was to improve the Bandwidth using SHUNT

PEAKING technique.

. Developed active shunt peaked Broadband Amplifier using MOSFET and

achieved overall improvement of 25% in the bandwidth with a decent

overall gain of 2.5

Design of a digital communication system:

Part 1:

. Designed a Digital Communication System in MATLAB that implements the

transmitter, receiver, and AWGN channel using sample based simulations

and generated the results for 2-, 4-, and 8-PAM and 4-QAM.

. Project consisted of following functional blocks: Random bit

generator, Symbol Mapper, SQRC matched filters AWGN generator, Symbol

detector, inverse symbol Mapper, BER Calculation. At the end,

compared the results obtained for various formats.

Part 2:

. Investigated: (a) The effect of frequency offset on BER at various

SNRs.

. (b) The effect of power amplifiers on the signal quality. Also,

quantified the SNR penalty on a BPSK signal which resulted from

nonlinearity of the Amplifier.

Socket Programming using C:

. Developed a self-organizing network of stand-alone nodes that discover

each other and finds the most efficient route to communicate to one of

the several antennae.

. All communications were implemented using TCP and UDP sockets in

client-server architecture.

Reports:

sensor network to collect distributed parameters like power

measurements etc. and make use of these parameters to optimize the

Performance of cellular network by assisting the radio resource

management with those Parameters.

Optical Fiber Communication: Key "Physical layer issues with WDMA in

multiuser networking":

. In this report, studied and familiarized with the key physical layer

issues one encounters in a typical WDMA system i.e. Coherent Cross

Talk and EDFA Gain transients, the statistical analysis of their

impact on system and various ways to mitigate their effects.
