DRESDNER KLEINWORT WASSERSTEIN, London,
UK 1998-2004
Chief Operating Officer, Capital Markets Origination
Having been recruited as Business Manager for Global Equities, I spent 18
months reengineering the sales and research businesses. I then conceived
and was given the role of developing bank wide eCommerce and set up and ran
the new global division, Online Markets. This included strategic and day-
to-day responsibility for two new VC funds and all client and operational
eBusiness activity across the bank. We then restructured the eBusinesses
into newly formed business lines and I was recruited to run a new bank
entity, CMO, the to-be client arm of the bank, formed of Equity and Debt
Capital Markets, and later Corporate Finance. Achievements and Roles:
. Managed new organisation's combined revenues up from E237m to E296m in
Year 1, with a E75m contribution to group profits.
. Managed the New Business Group, assessing commercial opportunities and
making investment sign-offs.
