Ikanos purchased the Broadband Business Unit of Conexant Systems in
August 2009. With ikanos my responsibilities as System Test Engineer
for VDSL products and as Lead System Test Engineer for SHDSL
products were unchanged from my responsibilities with Conexant (see
below). My position with ikanos was eliminated in February 2010 as part
of a workforce reduction.

Additional “lead” responsibilities for the SHDSL system test program
included training of overseas staff, coordinating the division of work

System Test Engineer 2004-2008
Validation of overall product quality and compliance to specific industry
standards for a family of VDSL and SHDSL chipsets designed by
Conexant. Responsibilities included test plan and test case design,
making schedule commitments and tracking/reporting on status, test
case execution, the analysis of test data and the generation of defects
and test reports. Necessary skills included the ability to translate
documents from standards bodies and Telco’s into test plans and test
cases, and the ability to communicate and work with a cross-section of
professionals from engineering, marketing, and project management.

Validate overall product quality and compliance to specific industry
standards for a family of Digital Subscriber Loop (xDSL) chipsets
designed by Globespan, including ADSL, HDSL, and SHDSL.
Responsibilities included manual and automated test case execution,
generation of defect tickets, and generation of test reports. Necessary
skills included a knowledge of common test and measurement
equipment, knowledge of basic computer skills and popular productivity
software (MS Excel, etc.), the ability to work within a team or with limited
supervision, and the ability to understand detailed test plans and test
cases and translate the plans into work activity.
