WORK EXPERIENCE
Lead Software Test Engineer - Science Systems and Applications, Inc. 10210
Greenbelt Road, Suite 600, Greenbelt, Maryland 20706 (8/2009 - Present).
Lead all software testing activities for performance testing (DAAC like
Operator Center) of the Real-time Command System for the Earth Core System
Maintenance Development (EMD) project at Goddard Space Flight Center.
. Manage the testing of software and data systems that includes
analyzing and inspecting requirements and write and define test cases.
. Analyze the Earth Science Data Information Systems (ESDIS) data
archived in the StorNext properly and identify software functional
issues.
. Provide guidance on the creation of test plans and test cases for the
software/system.
. Perform system configuration, diagnose, troubleshoot system to resolve
problems uncovered by testing, and assess test results by verifying
and quantifying test coverage and test progress.
. End to end functional tests, operational tests, fault recovery tests,
performance tests that benchmark the system stability and performance.
. Develop scripts, utilities, simulators, data sets and other
programmatic test tools as required to execute Test Plans using Perl,
C, C++, C-Shell (csh), Korn Shell (ksh).
. Define and implement roles, responsibilities, and deliverable
expectations for all team members.
Senior Software Engineer - SGT, Inc. 7701 Greenbelt Road, Suite 400,
Greenbelt, Maryland 20770 (8/2003 - 08/2009). Member of System Maintenance
Development (EMD) project at Goddard Space Flight Center.
. Troubleshot and followed-up with user-generated maintenance requests
and general issues.
. Tuned system performance, developed unit test cases and performed unit
testing to ensure functional accuracy and wrote NCRs (Non-Conformance
Reports) for any anomaly detected.
. Prepared configuration setups and executed performance testing to
validate EMD releases in test modes before promoting into operational
mode at NASA.
. Experience working with system engineers to develop operation tests
based on operational scenarios
. Reviewed business requirements and software system designs for
testability.
. Analyzed the EMD data archived in StorNext or AMASS to identify
software functional issues. Interfaced with internal groups such as
design, validation, testing under direction of software project
manager. Resolved conflicts in requirements with customer and design
engineers through Software Project Manager. Followed software project
plan, schedules and action items using software process.
. Experience writing complex automated test scripts using scripting
languages such as TCL, PERL, C, C++, C-Shell (csh), Korn Shell (ksh).
. Participated in various Six Sigma Projects, which defined processes
and procedures as part of the Process Baseline Team in order to bring
about process improvement within the program.
Senior Software Engineer - Raytheon System Company (Formerly Hughes
Information Systems.) 1616A McCormick Drive, Landover, Maryland 20785
(7/1995 - 8/2003).
. Developed test procedures, installed software, configured systems,
debugged system problems, supported End-To-End tests at customer sites,
performed tests, collected performance statistics network data, monitored
system performance during End-To-End test at sites and prepared
performance analysis reports.
. Participated in test case peer reviews to ensure traceability
specifications and test requirements.
Designed the Data Management System (DMS) for the EOSDIS Core System (ECS)
project at Goddard Space Flight Center. The project utilized POSIX-
compliant operating systems, C++, Rogue Wave class libraries and Object
Modeling Technique (OMT) methodology on SUN, HP & SGI platforms.
Senior Software Engineer III - Cubic Applications, Inc. (Formerly Titan
Corporation)
4450 Third Avenue, S.E. Lacey, Washington 98503 (10/1990 - 7/1995).
Developed and implemented Ada programs to convert and validate incoming
data from ADP systems external to Reserve Component Automation System
(RCAS), and reformatted that data for RCAS using rules and information from
supporting databases. This included Rule analysis, presentation design,
using the Teamwork design tool to create P-Spec, M-Spec, coding, testing,
customizing Ada applications software to satisfy customer requirements, and
participating in writing the Detailed Design Document.
Participated in the design, coding, testing, and development Code Generator
Tool to generate Ada code packages and preparation of the Software Design
Document of the External Transaction Manager. This component provided an
interface between external JOPES databases and AWIS database using Object
Oriented Design methodology based on the standard MIL-STD 2167A. These
operations translated incoming data to update the AWIS database, as well as
reformatting data to send back to JOPES external databases.
