April 2007:

I worked as a Consultant for Rohm and Haas to improve their capabilities in

the area of wafer analysis. This involved auditing of laboratories and

making recommendations for their improvement, Scientist and Technician

training, and development of analytical methods and written procedures. The

aim of this work was to bring a world class analytical capability in the

area of wafer analysis to Rohm and Haas.

2006 - 2007 (Cincinnati, OH):

I am employed at SUMCO as a Senior Laboratory Specialist. Duties involve

measurement and analysis of properties of silicon in the corporate

Analytical Labs. I am responsible for sample preparation and measurement on

several instruments (e.g. ICP/MS, AAS, GC) and for the quality of the data.

I am also responsible for writing Engineering Reports, preparing

presentations, and summarizing and drawing conclusions from the analytical

measurements. I have the following additional responsibilities;

- Communicating equipment maintenance needs and scheduled PM's.

- Developing and following practices and policies for sample

collection, analytical procedures and methods, including

identification of sampling plans for specific as well as non-

routine, evaluation tests.

- Developing and writing FMEA, OCAP, SOP and DMR (discrepant material

reports) documentation.

- Managing sample delivery, data approval, coordination of data

uploading into database systems for general distribution and

data/sample archiving.

- Communicating out-of-control quality data to Process and Quality

Engineers, including scheduling additional measurements as needed.

- Participating in problem resolution and quality improvements.

- Ordering of spares and materials to keep the laboratory functional

using the Corporate SAP system.

Significant achievements include;

- Designed and equipped new metrology labs in keeping with corporate

budget plans and time lines.

- Set up and qualification of new analytical instruments.

- Trained Technicians to perform routine analytical measurements.

- Developed new analytical methods for wafer analysis to improve

capability.

- Implemented SPC methods under six-sigma principles to monitor the

operating status of analytical instrumentation to ensure they were

under control.

2005-2006 (Midland, MI):

I was employed at Dow Corning working in the Corporate Analytical Group.

Duties involved performing non-routine analyses of internal customer

samples using equipment such as ICP/MS, ICP/OES, XRD, etc. In addition, I

was also responsible for sample preparation, data interpretation and

analysis, and writing of reports and tracking data using the company's LIMS

system.

2003-2005 ( St.Louis, MO):

Research Assistant in the R&D Laboratories at MEMC Electronic Materials.

Main duties involved running of the ICP/MS lab for the analysis of silicon

wafers (substrate and epitaxial) as well as polishing slurry chemicals for

bulk metals contamination. This included sample preparation, database

maintenance, running experiments according to test plans, reporting of data

to help determine the disposition of finished product, documentation of any

issues, online literature searching for new experimental methods pertaining

to the ICP/MS, and general lab upkeep. I also ensured continual operation

of critical equipment by completing preventive maintenance such as

following calibration procedures, general maintenance of the ICP/MS and

calling for repairs when needed. I was also responsible for writing new

procedures and developing new analytical methods to maintain the efficiency

and accuracy of running the lab. In addition, I maintained the inventory

of chemicals, equipment and supplies necessary for the performance of

testing. I was also responsible for managing SPC charts and associated

databases, and reporting out of control occurrences to manufacturing and

application engineers.

2002-2003:

Sleep Research Technologist at Midwest Sleep Diagnostics. Duties involved

patient preparation, electrode placement, diagnostic machine calibration

and trouble shooting, patient monitoring, administration of continuous

positive airway pressure (CPAP), and laboratory upkeep and cleanliness.

Additional duties included recording data and interpretation of results.

1999 - 2001:

Home duties. Stayed home full time to look after my two children.

1996 -1998:

Undewriter for AAMI Insurance (the largest insurance company in Australia).

Duties involved registering new policies for both home and car insurance,

as well as cross-selling our services to new and existing customers. A

large portion of my responsibilities included underwriting of new potential

customers. I was also responsible for resolving customer concerns over

billing issues through problem solving and dispute resolution in a manner

which was sensitive to the customer's needs. I was also responsible for

collation and statistical analysis of monthly sales figures. I was

responsible for implementing, coordinating and disseminating information

from major competitors in order to help maintain market advantage.

involved laboratory maintenance and placing orders for chemicals.

SKILLS

As a result of my higher education background and prior work experience, I

am competent in general laboratory skills and practices and have excellent

analytical skills. These include the handling of laboratory glassware, use

of optical microscopes, titrations, use of pipettes, basic organic and

inorganic chemistry, solution preparation, chemical handling as well as lab

maintenance and upkeep. I am experienced in the operation, trouble-

shooting, and advanced level maintenance of ICP/MS, ICP/OES, FTIR and

microwave digestion equipment.

I am very good at organization and have very strong communication skills. I

also have excellent problem solving skills and am able to think quickly to

solve tasks. In addition, I also have strong skills in statistical

analysis, data collation and dissemination, and report writing and

presentation. I am also competent with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint

and Excel), statistical analysis software and SAP. I have excellent record

keeping abilities and am able to work efficiently either independently as

well as within a team. I also have a strong desire to succeed in all that I

do.
