Project: ASIP DS3 (Availability Determination of service points).
The scope of this project was to enable the LCM (Loop Control Manager)
of Bellsouth to provide services to their customers. The LCM sends
a
request to the system asking for the availability of a service point
at a
particular geo location. Based on the availability of various
equipments
required to provide a service point a response indicating whether
service
can be provided or not to a customer located at the entered geo location
is sent back to the LCM. If the service is available at the entered geo
location then the number of days within which the service can be activated
is also provided.

Client: TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Mumbai.
Duration: August 2000 - March 2002.
Project:
. T.I.F.R Stores: The existing stores program was written in COBOL. There
was a need to change the program as it lacked proper user-interface. So
the new package was designed using Oracle as back-end and Developer2000
as front-end. I was involved in designing various user interface
programs. It involves transactions like arrival of stock materials, issue
details, new item and supplier details, which are received by the stores
department and then transferred to various other departments. Depending
upon the type of material transaction the respective stocks are updated
in the database.
. T.I.F.R Budget: T.I.F.R is an autonomous unit, which receives funds from
Department of Atomic Energy (D.A.E). The system then allots these funds
to various departments for carrying out research activities. After
allocation, budget heads from individual departments place requests to
utilize these funds as and when required. Depending on the availability
of funds under their account their request may be approved or rejected by
the system.
. QUALITY CONTROL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: The Quality Control Program is being
designed for the HIGH ENERGY COSMIC RAYS, department of TIFR. The HECR
department is involved in designing various instruments in collaboration
with different organizations worldwide. So all the information about the
various instruments are stored in a database and all the organizations
connected to HECR across the world can submit their queries to get the
necessary information.
. T.I.F.R Canteen Schedule: T.I.F.R being a very big organization, the
staff requirement for the canteen varied from day to day. On public
holidays & weekends the staff requirement for the Canteen is less as
compared to the weekdays. Depending on the employee's Previous duty
performed, the employee who has done least no. Of duty is given higher
Priority and is called on holiday's and weekend's to perform duty.
