Key Positions Held
Sr. Engineering Technician Stanford Linear Accelerator Lab, Stanford, CA.
Sr. Hardware Development Technician Abbot Critical Care, Mountain View, CA.
Engineering Lab Manager Netro Corporation, Santa Clara, CA.
Integration Engineering Technician Kaiser Aerospace & Electronics, San Jose, CA.
Sr. Engineering Technician Tandem Computers, Cupertino, CA.
Volt Technical Resources, Santa Clara, CA. December 2007 to Current
Robert Half, San Mateo, CA.
Associate Engineer eXclara, Santa Clara, CA.
Product is a switching power supply used to drive hundreds of LEDs for commercial and municipal
lighting. I built test fixtures for board test, reworked existing boards, and performed test procedures.
Primary tasks involved preparations for production in China of switching power supplies. Tasks included
surface mount rework under microscope.
Associate Engineer Tesla Motors, San Carlos, CA.
Designed analog and digital circuits, purchased parts, prototyped and built test equipment used to
balance stored charge in Energy Storage System. I used National Instruments USB interface devices for
connection to a laptop running Lab View to control the equipment. Working from detailed wiring diagrams
I implemented and verified fixes to complex wire harness used in Tesla electric cars. Did surface mount
rework on prototype boards.
Data Reporting and Analysis iPass, Redwood Shores, CA.
Called iPass corporate customers advising them on expiration of current software versions and upgrade
options. I coordinated with peers, shared information, researched customer information through
Salesforce.com and Contractual software.
Program Manager
Inland Metal, Hayward, CA. March 2005 to Nov 2007
Managed a variety of technical and business issues for a corporate partnership between my employer
and a startup company planning to test and repair high performance Force10 router blades. Acting as
technical lesion, I corresponded extensively with vendors, subcontractors, city government, and utility
companies. Issues included phone, internet, power, installation of large-scale environmental chambers. I
designed complex control systems for large scale environmental chambers that electricians installed.
Supervised a 10-person product rework line in ESD safe environment.
Quick Cash, San Mateo, CA. June 2004 to Feb 2005
Operated Quick Cash, A payday loan business. Oversaw the processing of loans, monitored accounting
using Quick Books, performed market research, and managed cost effective advertising campaigns.
Composed print advertisements for local newspapers and radio and television advertisements for major
bay area stations. Ensured completion of required paperwork for various government agencies, bankers
and other businesses.
Associate Engineer
Electronics for Imaging, Foster City, CA. Jan 2003 to April 2004
Prototyped electronics required to capture images drawn on a common office white board to a computer
by precisely tracking the pen using IR / Ultrasonic technology. Worked with senior engineers on solving
technical problems. Participated in technical decisions and provided technical input. Built prototypes
based on engineering drawings and provided documented working prototypes. Wrote test procedures and
documented for patent security. Oversaw organization of the engineering lab to ensured smooth
operation and availability of prototypes.
Senior Engineering Technician
Raychem Corporation, Menlo Park, CA. Mar 1999 to Nov 2002
Prototyped circuits, implemented fixes, documented construction and performed environmental testing of
Transformer Oil Gas Analyzer, a gas monitoring instrument used by power utility companies to monitor
transformer integrity. Instrument detects optical absorption of gases extracted from oil and then
processes the data, displaying the results on a PC platform. Common functions include embedded
microprocessor, A/D conversion, DAC controlled power devices, stepper motor drive, thermoelectric
cooling, precision light sources, optical measurements, and power supplies.
